Man, that sucks. Hope so too. The good news is I'm dealing with the US subsidiary directly so if they mess it up, I'll return it right away.Akalnoky wrote:Turkish Express - hope it's better made than the one I had for a previous 690 Duke......
It arrived "loose" in a box, no internal wrapping from Italy. All the pieces were floating around rubbing and knocking on each other! It was not a very good fit. Within a couple of hundred kilometres it had started to chaff the swingarm so I had to fabricate a wider bracket where it mounted to the rear footpeg. All in all I was very disappointed with the fit and quality although it looked better than anything else.

I notice that you have removed the SAS. I was under the impression that if you are using a cat, better leave the SAS on. Or is it not the case?LenFerguson wrote:Have installed the Arrow mid pipe with the Cat. Went ahead and ceramic coated the headers and mid pipe Blk. Looks awesome I reckon
How did the sound change with the Arrow cat? I am running catless at the moment, but I dislike the smell. The original cat makes the bike sound like there is a potato in the muffler, so that is going back only for inspection.

Did you get it ??Turkishexpress wrote:Just ordered the SC Project. Thought hard and long if the Austin Racing was worth the price for the little bit of piping and it just wasn't for me. The only bad thing now is waiting for four weeks for them to custom make the exhaust to order

It was taking way too long and they couldn't get me concrete dates so I cancelled and got this instead.dan 1290 wrote:Did you get it ??Turkishexpress wrote:Just ordered the SC Project. Got this last week. Just waiting on the Rottweiler intake to arrive so I can do PCV, SAS removal, exhaust, intake all at once.

What do people think of the graves: http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/grav ... -2014-2015
On the dyno pic it's showing a 10hp increase, i wonder if that is with the assistance of an intake mod?

I'm also interested in sounds with Arrow link pipe with cat. How do they change comparison to original cat or catless?Verners wrote: How did the sound change with the Arrow cat? There is no way any silencer adds 10hp alone. Silencers are pretty much only for sounds and definitely not power.Oupy wrote:What do people think of the graves: http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/grav ... -2014-2015

The Graves exhaust gets rid of the cat so could possibly give a 10hp increase. Shame it's fugly.

Actually didn't see it gets rid of cat. But you should check what happens if you only get rid of it (without any intake mod etc.) It sure don't give hp, just the opposite:dmacl wrote:The Graves exhaust gets rid of the cat so could possibly give a 10hp increase. Shame it's fugly.

Just installed the Competition Werkes exhaust. Sound is same as other exhausts... loud.

Sorry Verners, I have been away for a while travelling and only just saw your questions. When riding the bike mainly only on weekend and usually higher up in the rev range the SAS can be removed as the CAT won't end up getting to blocked. Only if you are putting around will the CAT end up fouling. But it is an easy process to pull the pipe off to clean the CAT if need be. Sound wise it is louder but I like it. Not too loud but still you know that you have a mid pipe on. The intake roar from my Rotty airbox is louder though.

That Wings exhaust is nice. it would be better if it came in a black like the 1190.

Hey Guys,
Found this one while lurking lately on Austin Racing's site. Looks like they've got a very nice looking ceramic coated GP1 as well!

This is what a GP1 will look like on your bike.

Re: Aftermarket exhaust pipes for the 1290
The only thing holding me back from the GP1 is the fact that I won't be able to have the Powerparts panniers and the girlfriend on at the same time.. I'm still trying to think of ways around that, though. That GP1 is pure mechanical beauty!

You can ride with your girlfriend if you buy the bracket they offer for the right passenger footpeg, but the only workaround I can think of for the panniers is a backpack...

Re: Aftermarket exhaust pipes for the 1290
We're a Kriega family when it comes to backpacks, so it might just boil down to that and a tank bag for travelling. I may lean towards the AR slip on instead of the GP1 for the time being. Some places in my province are very.. noise prohibitive (AHEM EDMONTON), so I may just play it cool and if/when I go for the full decat/rotty intake/chuck out the superfluous canisters and hoses and spend money on a dyno tune biz, I'll do it all at once.
