2019 KTM 1290 Super Duke R exhaust

Post by Vye » Wed May 29, 2019 5:06 am

Hey guys just bought my first Duke R couple weeks ago and i'm looking into an AR exhaust probably GP1/R exhaust with the de-cat and headers. i know i need to do a power commander if i'm de-cating. But is there anything else i should worry about/need? Looking to install this myself and AR suggest the A.T.O.M.. PC? Any experience with this? and is there any worry about the 2019? Everything show from like 2014-2018 dunno if anything has changed. Thanks! ALSO new to the forums! :D

BLUF: Do not buy any Austin Racing exhaust and expect to install the ATOM device on your own. If you're lucky your dealer will install third party 'non-KTM approved' items for you.

Yea, I am currently trying to install the ATOM device myself on a 2019 KTM SDR, and its complete garbage. The instructions that Austin Racing gives are completely useless when it comes to the TPS section. They do not inform you that com[plete removal of the engine from the frame is needed. Unless you found a way to clip in the TPS that comes with the ATOM device, I want to know, cause there is zero space with the engine brackets on.

Unfortunately, when I came to that step in the instruction, I found that two of my engine bracket bolts were stripped. After fours days of trying to remove them, I will just have to bite the bullet, and put everything back together and load into a truck and get a fix at my local dealer.
