I don't think I would call it a premium brand in terms of build quality/reliability. More like Ducati circa 2000. It's a small company manufacturing a niche machine. For reliability then something like a Yamaha Super Tenere would be a far better bet.

Despite a rocky start with my own SMT-even knowing the potential reliability issues-I find its charms to outweigh its deficits. Mind you I already knew what I was buying which tempered expectation.

Well the barrel got changed yesterday and bike back to running like a dream. Thank god it was under warranty as it could have run in to the £00s.
I don't want to stoke the flames of reliability again but the dealer mentioned they have more warranty calls on SMT and Adventure than they do on the multistrada. And that's bloody Italian!
