I used a flat bit for a drill driver with a small ring spanner to get mine out. Mine came out easily, using the bit allows you to get the right angle and purchase on the jet that you won't get with a conventional screwdriver.

I have read that you can also clean in-situ, which might be a better alternative than buggering up the slot of the jet. Use a very thin wire / guitar string and see if that works.

Search the forum! There is at least one very good thread about how to take that oil jet out.

Yeah, I agree Herb. I know when the jet is blocked. The gears feel crunchy. My jet only ever blocks on a hot day when riding through slow city traffic, but it then clears when I give it the berries :D
