any issue with SAS delete and Cat?

Post by jgiachino » Tue Jun 05, 2018 6:07 am

Ordered Rotty stage 2 to get rid of canister and block off SAS - had it done on my 990 no issue. Is there any issue with doing so on.a bike with stock exhaust / cat? thx

The stage 2 doesn’t have any dongles so if you remove the SAS/canister you’d prob get a bunch of codes unless you use a PowerCommander-type module or have the ECU flashed with the Akra map as well. Any reason why you’d want to remove the emissions systems and not the cat? The de-cat pipe and cat can be switched in about 15 mins.

Also, haven't I read that if you eliminate the SAS and leave the cat, it's possible to overheat the cat?.. Plus, it sounds so much better :D

Stage 2 does come with the dongles - so not worried about FI lights/codes

Understood on the cat removal, but bike is 2 weeks old and in break in period....and wife is still choking on me buying a new one :-)...I'll start down the path of the dark side soon.

Plan on full akra kit thru warranty period (12 mo), then PC/AutoTune/Rotty Intake....

I have rottie intake, SAS delete and fueling dongles with the cat and I don't have any problems. Next year I'll probably add a PCV and a link pipe. Runs great.
