2014 SDR Clutch Switch

Post by DieselRacer75 » Sat Jun 02, 2018 11:24 pm

So my clutch switch quit working while I was riding the other day. I pulled in to fill the bike up and it would die every time I put it into gear. So in order for me to get home I cut the wires at the switch and tied them together. I have a few questions about this. (1) Is there really a Neutral Map? (2) What are people doing when they put on aftermarket levers? Are they flashing the bike? If so are they going to the dealer and telling them to eliminate a safety feature?

I could be wrong, but i’ve never heard of a clutch switch causing a bike to do that. You sure your kickstand switch isn’t the cause?

The bike was flashing a Warning saying (Clutch Switch). I tested the switch and the manual says in the open position it should read OL Infinite and with the switch closed it should read no more than 0.1 ohm. I was reading everything from 0.2 ohm to 8.7 ohm. I've rode it several times since I jumped the wire and no issues putting it into gear. It just randomly pops up the Clutch Switch warning still... I'll check the kick stand switch though. That's a good point. Thank you.
