Post by mogas64 » Fri May 25, 2018 7:00 am

Anyone use octane stuff in their SD R, I use only Shell V Power all the time, would adding octane booster to that be beneficial or not?, Any advice would be gratefully recieved, Cheers all.

I don't think it is necessary if the engine has stock compression. Octane stops the fuel charge from igniting prematurely. The higher the pressure/ compression the higher the octane is needed. I have read (no personal experience) that low compression engines can suffer from high octane fuel. The charge fails to burn efficiently.

Edit: The charge fails to burn completely.
