crazy tire wear on my other bike

Post by HDKAWKTM » Fri Oct 27, 2017 10:26 pm

This is the front tire from my Continental Evo2 on my Kawasaki Concours 14. Tire has about 6.5 k miles on it. I ran recommended tire pressures as well. I have been riding 45years and been thru many tires. I have seen tires that have shown cupping before but never like this
Anyone ever seen this result on a front tire.

What's the date on that tire? Maybe just old...lost all the heat cycles and deformed

Better get a new one quick!!! Safety is no joke

GS
Date is 2015 on tire. I did some searching and seen where to much rebound damping can cause similar and I had adjusted the preload and rebound and maybe I went too much? Bike handles great. I took some off the rebound and just installed some Avon Ultra Sport 3d tires today.

I think it was just an unlucky belt failure. I would continue to run the rebound where you like it, and watch the new tire. If rebound can do that, than I would be nervous about the manufacturer.
