1290 Power Commander V Custom maps

Post by kevxtx » Fri Jul 18, 2014 7:09 am

Like we did for the 990's post all your custom made PCV Dyno maps here, or PM me & I will add them for you.

Unfortunately the sign of the times. The KTM 990 SMT forum or myself can not be held responsible for any modification done to your own motorcycle, any modification you under take is your own responsibility, we are not liable for any claim from the mods or fuel maps listed on this forum. The use of these PCV & Tune ECU HEX maps are at your own risk, it is always advised to get a professional tuner to tune your bike I always recommend a custom map to be built for your own bike.

NOTE: All Kevxtx maps are built on 95RON BP Australian fuels, when using my maps in the UK, Europe & the USA you may need to increase the fuel maps by +2%, in the USA using ethonal fuel you will need to increase the fuelling by +2 to +4%

Yes I do Len, the PCV kit comes with O2 eliminators. Just as we found on the 990's the 1290 responds well to more air in.

We will have a full Akra exhaust system with Akra map loaded & mapped on the Dyno using Tune Link with a PCV to add next weekend, tuned for our Ozzy fuels. :D It will be interesting to see what gains are had as it is running to rich on our Ozzy fuels.

A/F ratio: Akra full exhaust system + Akra map.

With the intake mod & a bit of fuel pulled out of the Akra map we should see some nice gains,

Any idea what gains Stagger saw with the PCV fitted and mapped?

Blue line PCV mapped over Akra map with baffle in, Verse Red line Akra mapped baffle out. We know the baffle took 4HP after 8750RPM but the custom map out performed the open system before that.

Can you overlay baffle out with PCV and without PCV?

Stagger did not do any PCV mapping with baffle out as he was paying for the custom mapping & decided the bike was to noisy with baffle out & mapped the bike with baffle in. I do have Akra map loaded baffle in & out.

Red baffle out, Blue baffle in Akra map loaded no PCV fitted, Full Akra exhaust K&N filter.

Blue run Akra map loaded baffle in, Red run PCV mapped baffle in + kev's snorkel mod.

What a great result at 5000 rpm. Wouldn't it be fantastic if the same gains were available with the airbox kit installed and mapped. Should be fun :o
Well done to all involved.

I was riding in the mountains with my bike yesterday & it has so much mid range torque, it is just mad to ride out of the corners, the bike is so fast in the mid range now, I am looking forward to the air box.

Has anyone loaded Kev's or Stagger's map onto their 1290 PCV?
I tried today (Stagger's map) and got this message:

Unable to send map.
The device model Number does not match the map Model Number.
Device #450 vs. Map #442

Does this mean the 1290 PCV does not like 1190 PCV maps, or I've fumbled the ball somehow?

Thanks, I'll try that.
Reply from Dynojet suggested the same, but also advised that the map will be slightly less accurate, so there must be a difference in the 1190 & 1290 PCV's.
I guess the Autotune will sort it out.

Copy & paste the tables from the 1190 PCV map to your 1290 PCV map this will over come the problem, sneaky buggers Dynojet.

The way I would do it was to open the 1190 PCV map copy both cylinders to a excel spread sheet close that map, then open a 1290 PCV map & paste both fuel table across.

Is it possible for someone to install/copy/paste staggers 1190 pcv map into their 1290 pcv, then save it with a new name and post/share that map for us? Thanks.
