Ktm sdr 2017 Brembo brake recall master cylinder

Post by JackRabbitSlim » Sat Feb 17, 2018 11:17 am

Welp just got the call from my dealer. 6-12 weeks for the part they need to come in to fix under warranty. First off they have known about the issue for some time now and just now they are notifying me? And then 6-12 weeks before they will get a part to fix . Right as we head into track season ! Oh the good news is they stated normal riding is okay as long as you don’t take it on the track or race it..... WTH!! Yeah no thanks .. fuel pump one thing brakes a totally different story. Sorry just venting not KTM fault here all Brembo but still 6 to 12weeks !!!!

That's BS. My dealer got the recall notice for my '18 SDR last Tuesday, immediately ordered the part, and called me yesterday to tell me they got it in. A buddy of mine that just picked up a '17 GT had the same experience--different dealer that could not release the new bike to him until they did the recall and had the part overnighted with no problem.

Thanks for sharing makes me feel a little better. Maybe it won’t be 6+ weeks

Official recall for KTM should start March 3rd, and not all the models are affected. Who ever has a doubt, can check on KTM website, with VIN number delivery certificate number as well. I checked mine the other day MY2015, not affected by recall but still checking with my dealer at the moment to be sure.
KTM all the way!

VIN lookup for my 2016 SDR says there are no recalls for it.

Just got the letter today. My service isn't even due. I think I will get them to change tires and pads while its in for recall.
