Both 1290 sdr, one orange 2014 and the other black 2015. No other bikes. Well, I just read on the Brembo site that the m50 was first time on 2011 Ducati 1199 Panigale.

Do like the others do, you end up being like the others, so... Well, seems to be a lot of KTM riders around.

That confirms it is something with SDR setup that makes it. I will let you know what the dealer says in a few days

Mate it's nothing to do with the setup, both discs & calipers are made by Brembo. They must have made a bad batch of discs.

So your brakes squeal all time, hot or cool?

A bad batch of discs could be one answer but our two bikes have quite a gap between their assembly dates, so...

Interesting, but my theories are always prone to be crushed, if not by others then by me... That is the best part of it, too. I was used to it at early age anyhow...

My suspicion is wrong rotors were spec'd. Maybe the rotors material or size isn't match correctly with the calipers, maybe all it takes is fast heating and cooling to warped the rotors. I will see what the dealer will say tomorrow. I have my eyes on wavy rotors, so there is always an option. I will make sure the dealer measure the runout tomorrow and not send me home with the problem.

Ok, quick update. I had an appointment with KTM dealer today. They inspected the rotors and measured the run-out. Both rotors are out of spec, with one of the them with excessive run-out. Dealer said that I shouldn't be riding it. So they submitted warranty request to KTM since the bike is less than 6mths old and with 4000miles on it. Will know more on Monday/Tuesday

I will go to the dealer with the same problem this week. Hopefully they'll take care of me. We'll see. It's the Mountain Motorsports at Conyers, GA.

So looks like KTM agreed to replace the rotors. I am picking up the bike tomorrow and as soon as I get it I will update the post how the bike feels.

Great result. Mine is suffering slightly with the same issue and dealer has lodged a claim. I'm still riding it while I wait to hear back.

I would push the dealer to measure the runout. It took some convincing after they told me was perfectly fine to ride till they have time to check it out. Ended up being so warped that they didn't let me take the bike without signing liability release form.

I asked them to do that while it was in for its 15K service. They agree it's faulty, hence the claim, so we'll give them a chance.

Got the bike today and feels better. I couldn't reproduce the problem. After some negotiation between the dealer and KTM. KTM covered new rotors and pads.

Look at the sticker on the left side of the bike, right below the tank

Well, back to square one. After getting new rotors and brake pads, noise is back. I am glad that I didn't have to pay for them

But surely you would've hardly used the new brakes in 5 days? Not good!
