again, anybody hiring over the hill carpenters in australia? Need a bigger garage kevxtx? I'm sure eventually a local gearhead will stumble upon the SDR and guy's like me (fix everything with a hammer) will have someone to work things out. Local shops want $95-110.hr book and i'd pay if I really thought I could trust them.
Enjoy

I'm in the US. Do you send there, or is it cost-prohibitive?

Is there any other way to fix this issue, as it's absolutely maddening. This is my first non-Japanese bikes, and I used to complain that those were off! Then again, as speedohealer has always worked wonders. It sounds like it won't work on the SDR?

....and it also sounds like KTM is refusing to fix this, as it falls under the "acceptable" limit legal? That is a cop-out. I would hope for a better answer from the manufacturer.

Yup, feels good to let a bit of steam, eh? Welcome to the asylum.

'SpeedoHealers' won't work but we're fortunate to have Kev, who has sorted out both the SMT & the SDr and unselfishly shared with us knowledge and resources, although they represent a large investment in time and money on his part. Unfortunately, there are those unscrupulous opportunists out there who would steal from Kev and offer copies for petty personal gain. (May they burn in Hell!)

To your point, Kev's rings work like magic, they don't affect anything else (such as TC or ABS) and, as an engineered solution, they truly are a 'gift' from our benefactor, not a business.

Look, of all the bikes I've owned only the SMT was dead-on with the stock speedo, ironic since the instrument cluster is total 'Flinstone' stuff. You mount a Nav (or a Smart phone) and figure your margin of error and it's a quick calculation: Speedo reads 80? You're doing ~72.
If that works for you, you're good to go. If not, at least you have an option.

Haha, thanks. Not too irritated, THB... but I also haven't had tell me to 'suck it up' due to KTM not handling an issue.

I'm definitely interested in Kev's rings. How hard is the install?

Awesome. I will PM him now.

At this point, is there any expectation/chance KTM *will* issue a PCM update for this? If that happens, after the ring install. The speedo would actually be underreading.

We have seen many Dash software updates since the first released 1290 & none of the dash updates have address the over reading Speedo.

The 1290 rings are for sale on EBay: http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/ferdiev123/m ... 7675.l2562

Yes, sorry. I missed that you had posted that info back in March so my PM was not valid. I found your ebay listing and will order up a set of the rings from you the proper way.

10% out ( too low) at all speeds - do the math and your good.

Hey - you can tell your mates you touched 260 - even if it was only 234 kph!!!!

I just had mine installed a few weeks ago. I cannot overemphasize how great it is having a correct speedo. Thanks, Kev!
