I must be the only one that likes the KTM ergo seat. Longest day has been six hours in the saddle and I felt really good. If you want pain, do that on my speed triple stock seat. :(

It looks like rider weight is the main factor when choosing a comfy seat. I am a lard arse too, I bought the Ergo seat because the foam on the standard seat had got too soft after a few thousand miles , it now feels great after spending a few hours on the rock hard Ergo seat ! I am just having trouble deciding which one to re-upholster.

I decided to have a look inside the ergo seat at the weekend, all they have done is cut a recess in the foam and fitted a small, almost rectangular gel pad in the riders seat and put a layer of thin foam over the whole seat. The pad is almost solid and is only 12mm thick which explains why the seat is so hard. I have been looking at a couple of sites that supply gel pads to wheelchair users, and they recommend a pad of 18mm thickness with no padding on top of it. I now have to decide whether to fit a larger/thicker gel pad or an extra layer of foam in place of it ? I am hoping to re-fit the original cover so I cant really go overboard with the padding. I will keep you informed on whether I succeed or fail and try and post some photos
