Cheap Tyres in Australia

Post by LenFerguson » Mon Jun 10, 2013 1:10 am

Check out - cheapmotorcycletyres.com.au. They are in Brendale Brisbane.

I just purchased a pair of the new Pilot Power 3's for $362 delivered to give them a try. Looking at the website they have all the big brands with sets mostly under $400. The only downside is if you get them delivered you will have to fit them yourself. Anyone here is Brisbane I can help out as I have a motorcycle tyre changer at home.

We can fit and balance them at my place Kev. Buying at this price just means you can change your rubber a bit more often and keep it fresh.

I have never had Michelin before but hear good things so I will give them a go and see how they perform.

Thanks Len ordered 3 tyres yesterday all arrived at a good price. :D Very friendly & reliable guys

Have told a few mates who will order a few sets soon. I have my own wheel balancer & changer so a good deal in the end, you motivated me to change my tyres again. :D

No worries Kev. It would be good to look after these guys and order from them, just a good deal for rubber.

What did you end up going for in the end?

Len, let me know what you think of the Pilot power 3's, getting a set fitted in a few weeks.
I will be glad to be rid of the Conti's...lost the front a couple of times when hardly pushing it and have no confidence in them,
particularly with some track days coming up later in the year.

No worries, I came off some Dunlop sportmax that I liked and handle really well on the road and track, excellent grip. They held on really well. But I have a mate running these and he loves them, so I thought I would give them a go and see how they go on the SMT.

I had the stock Conti tires on my Triumph a few years ago. Much appreciated the mprovements from the Dunlop Roadsmart, wore out two sets, then bought the PR3's. Only put ~1000 miles on them before selling the TBS ( ) but they were just a bit more inspiring. The same front size as our rides, but a 160 for the rear (and a lot less HP).
Mods: arrow exhaust, 2nd flies removed, plugged air injection caps, JC30-80 air filter, 44T sprocket, 80w high beam, short levers, weighted bar ends, Rox risers, remapped ecu, heated grips, horn, radiator screen, crash bar, skid plate, backrest.

Ok I have had a few runs on the PP3's now and I like them. They scrubbed in quick and feel very responsive. I feel like I can change direction quicker than the Dunlop's that I took off, but this may be just new tyres over old. Excellent grip and I have been right over now and not even a hit of slip and slide. One thing I have noticed is that the PP3's tear easy, so on the track they will rip up once that are hot and pushed. I think that this will see them wear more quickly. But in the end I am after grip more so than long life, so far so good and I am happy to say give them a go.

Good timing with the report, Len.
Booked in tomorrow morning for STM slipper clutch, PP3's and 17/43 sprocket change.
I feel the same way preferring grip vs wear, as I do less than 10,000km/year.
Probably equates to $2-$3/week difference between grippy hoops and long lasting ones.
Will be hitting the track next month, will see how they wear.

This post is over 4 years old now, you would need to contact the Australian distruber cheapmotorcycletyres.com.au I would have throught you would be able to get the tyres at a cheaper cost in your country than shipping them for the other side of the world. I have never seen a RC8 with a 225/40/18 rear tyre?

Checking your IP address it says you are in the Ukraine not the Chanel islands please can you correct the country you live in, we have a few sleeper Spammers on this forum at the moment & I am watching them, not saying you are one of them but I am looking deeper into posts & it does not help when a IP location does not match to a registered forum ID.
