Had the RS2's fitted this afternoon and a short 15 mile run home running 33/33 F/R. I'll work the less than 1 inch bitch strips left off over the w/e. Watch this space.

Only a couple of hundred miles and not a direct comparison to the original Roadsmarts which were on the GS but the Roadsmart 2's seem have for me that same confidence inspiring ride to them that suits big trailies. Feel happy barreling along A and B roads on mixed/poor surfaces more so than I did on the BT23's, though granted it's early days just yet and I've not tried them in the wet. Maybe I just needed to gain some faith again in tyres that wouldn't give me the odd 'moment'. Either way, enough of a test for me to go pick up the BT23's from the tyre fitters and put them up for sale later in the week and give the Roadsmart 2's a decent initial thumbs up :D .

I tried running the rear a little higher but, maybe 4 or 5 PSI, but I could tell the difference so for now I'll continue running 33/33 F/R. I don't disappear off top the Alps until late May after which I'll give a better longer term/long trip report with (probably because it's always the case) some decent wet riding.

Eunuch
what was your long term finding on the Roadsmart 2?

I am tempted as I was very pleased with RoadSmart 1 on an R1100s; especially after 35 miles of flinging it around to stay in front of 2 honda blackbirds

i have been using Sports smarts, which I liked, now have the SS2 on the rear and have not noticed dramatic difference but it is better.
But I think if you are going for sports tyres the Metzeler Sportec M7 RR have moved the tyre development on.
Very good reports of an excellent sports tyre that is good in the wet and has longevity
They will be my next sports tyres when the current Dunlops are done.
However I even considering using Michelin PR4's in the winter and back to sports for the summer, expensive way to go I know.

Well I have fitted Roadsmart 2 - the PR3 were not that impressive feel and were white-lining nastily at 5000 miles

I will report back on how they are :?:

My smt came with new pr3 fitted , I never liked the feel of them on the 950 but gave them a go for a few hundred miles , and they felt the same vague rear end when cornering and a few small slides over overbanding etc . I loved the sportsmart on the 950 so quickly changed the pr3 for them on the smt. amazing difference and only 500 miles less life . 3500 from pr3 and 3000 from sprtsmart. iam now almost finished my second set of sportsmart 2 and love them the rear wears on the sides before the middle so it never squares off ruining the handling like other tyres do 3 k out of each rear and about 5 k from the fronts . only downside if the headshake at 40 if you let go of the bars and the front gets a bit twitchy over the lines etc when its worn .
there is no comparison between pr3 and sportsmart , I feel the smt is wasted on pr3 you just as well have bought a tiger
I never really felt any difference in the wet who tries that hard on a wet road ?
Gonna try the roadsmart next as iam 2 up a lot and want more miles for touring this year . 4500 miles on any tyre would be a dream come true

I was between dose 2 but at the last time fitted Qualifer II.I had to my other byke SportSmart ,Qualifer and Qualifer II.I believe the perfect tyre for SMT is Qualifer II,you can do more than 7000 klm and also you can scratch leg pads.
