They're crap. Not that the bike will let go in the wet, you just can't have any fun if it's raining and have to take it easy.

Go out on it next time it's raining and see how you find them, shouldn't have to wait too long in blighty!

You've only got another 1100 miles let on this tire until its a slick. I'm hearing great reports on pilot road 2's and 3's and also BT023's. Thats why I bought a pair of Metzeler M5's :P

For me there was never any issues in the wet with contis change to road pilot 2s wanting more mileage plus they get a good write up.
Old enough to know better but wtf

I had no problems with the conti's once warm, little skittish in the wet, but i slow down a bit when it rains anyway. Having said all that i am now on pr2's and waiting for the flat to appear.lol
Depending on how may miles you do before your trip you may need a new rear, i got 2500 and it was real thin (in the middle) before anyone says it

Wow... I think I screw it up....
I'm buying an used 2011 SMT with 7000Km on it, with a brand new rear tire (Conti) and a wear out front tire, I just ordered a new Conti to replace it, did to match the new rear... Let's see what happens.
My current bike (for sale to pay my daughters college) is a 2012 Multistrada Sport and let me tell you that the Pirelli Scorpion Trail are jus awesome!
I regret not being register to this forum before I placed my order.

I've put a couple of thousand miles on the stock Contis including one trackday and a few rainy commutes. I wouldn't call them a bad tire, just over priced for what they are.

Compared to Dunlop Q2s: A little better in the wet, not quite as sticky when hot in the dry.

Compared to Pirelli Angel STs: Not nearly as good in the wet but they withstand abuse on a hot dry road with repeated heavy loading in the corners without getting greasy as quick as an Angel ST can.

Would I buy another set? Probably not, I feel there are better all-around tires on the market for the same or less money. However it's not a BAD tire IMHO.
