The KTM universal tank bag is a great fit and a really nice piece. The price is competitive with the aftermarket options AND it says KTM on it, which is worth a few horsepower!

I didnt care for the Bags Etc (KTM factory offering) bag. Have mine in a closet.

I put a small Wolfman bag on mine. Clears the bars and gives me enough room to lay over the tank without my gut being pushed in. Can't carry as much, oh well. You have hard bags, so room is not much of an issue. I think I would have bought this even without the bar risers (pulled back towards me).
Mods: arrow exhaust, 2nd flies removed, plugged air injection caps, JC30-80 air filter, 44T sprocket, 80w high beam, short levers, weighted bar ends, Rox risers, remapped ecu, heated grips, horn, radiator screen, crash bar, skid plate, backrest.

I've been using the standard KTM one (625.12.019.200) for the last couple of years with no problems. It does the job. Only grumble is the harness makes it a bit of a pain to remove/refit the filler cap, and because it's not completely tight it's worn the paint a bit underneath where you'd expect it to be more protective.

Iam using the bag I had on the 950 and finding it a bit too big for daily use . I looked at the latest ktm bag today in the dealers and it looks a bit smaller than the older model I have . Going to go back and try it out to see how it fits ,

To update just been to the dealers and tried the new ktm tank bag . It's smaller than the old one , but it still sits in the same place in front of me so there was no advantage . Quality  was very poor , it's felt light and flimsy next to the old bag , this new one bears none of the famsa quality of the old one , it only has sungle side pockets no under lid pocket , but still £120 did however have straps to make it a backpack ,

Most of the KTM badged kit is just Bags Connection stuff except without a KTM logo and 15% extra cost.
That newer small one does not appear to be like the regular stuff, perhaps they have got a new deal with another manufacturer with a bigger profit margin, but lesser quality ?
I got a bags connection Enduro tank bag, and next to the KTM badged stuff you can clearly see it's almost identitcal. But a bit cheaper, (only a bit!)
I agree with the comment about the annoyance of refuelling with the strap on bag, it can be a bit of a pain.
It's a pity that the SMT uses a non standard type fuel cap, as the strapless Quick lock system that bags connection has would be ideal. :(

My ktm bag I bought back in 2011 fir my 950 is defiantly made by famsa , it's identical . It fine around the filler cap and doesn't need removing to fill up , it just feels and looks a bit big for the bike , it's a bit too close to me , but maybe my guts could also be smaller :D
