How does the KTM universal rear bag/backpack mount?

Post by pwbike » Thu Nov 07, 2013 9:17 pm

Hello, I'm new here, from Melbourne, Australia. I just bought a shiny new 2013 990 SMT on Saturday.

I'm looking at the KTM universal rear bag/backpack
http://shop.ktm.com/au_en/universal-rea ... ack-2.html

I'm wondering how it mounts to the bracket/pad on the bike.
Does it strap on, clip on, or something else?

The bag slides onto the rack (there is a small pocket at the bottom of the bag which the rack slides into) then the straps clip on - like this:

+1 thanks Scutty. I was just about to buy one of those till I just saw the pic and noticed it takes up the passenger seat. The Mrs wouldn't be impressed with that!

I've ended up ordering the waterproof roll bag which will also take up the pillion seat and rear rack. It bungies on.

Hey Yozzy that KTM bag is a rebadged Bags Connection rear bag and it appears this time KTMs version is a bit cheaper for a change.

So, do they connect on to the original plate or does it come with one you nail on ? Debating whether to fettle me Ventura stuff to fit or get one of them.

Looks to me like it's designed to go on the pillion seat (curved base).
