ARD Cases v Trax top box

Post by Stevek23 » Sun Jul 07, 2013 9:02 am

Hi Folks

I'm trying to decide between the Trax top box or the ARD Case top box for my 2012 990 SMT. I'd rather give my cash to a small business, even though this would mean sourcing a backrest from elsewhere (essential for the other half) as these are not available specifically for the ARD cases top box. What I don't want to do is butcher the OEM rack or remove the grab handles. Grateful for any information on mounting the ARD top box or Trax item and general use of both. I daily cart around a heap of Mac hardware and so security is also an issue.

Ride safe

Steve

I've had the ARD cases top box fitted for a month now, and it's a great product. Very robust, totally waterproof and Roger is a great guy to deal with. You do need to drill the (supplied) stainless steel mounting plate, but as long as you mark and clamp safely, use a decent center punch and new HSS bit on medium speed with lots of lube (I used Muc Off cleaner) you'll be fine.
