Replacing front brake light microswitch

Post by Muppet » Wed Aug 16, 2017 10:44 pm

Hi Guys,

MY front brake light microswitch - activated by front brake lever - has failed. I've got a replacement from KTM (Forty seven f**king quid!!!!) which comes complete with the wire and plug. Trouble is, the plug connection is, from what I can see, buried somewhere within the frame/headstock area. I could just cut the new microswitch off and join it to the existing wires (I know these work as the brake light comes on when the wires are touched together), but that's not a neat way of doing it. I took the tank off but can only see where the wire goes into the frame, not where the connection block is.

Do I need to take the frame/headlight sub-frame off/apart to find this, or is it somewhere less obvious but more accessible?

If someone has a parts fiche for that area, that would be most useful!

Cheers

I trust that you got your answer, but for future reference and others looking through the thread. The connector is tucked under the fuse box. I just replaced mine only $26.00.

Hi, thanks for the info. Yes eventually I found out where it was - tucked up up behind the headlamp if I remember rightly, it was a while ago now.

But $26 versus £47 stings a bit. :(
