Re: Kev's SMT modification list
Seemed to be revvin too high at 80 cruising for me. Wasn't that much impressed after the initial woww on the acceleration tbh. Put it back to 17 after about a 1000 miles, suits me more.

Re: Kev's SMT modification list
Plenty of tight up and down mountains would make me want less snappy throttle. When we was in Picos standard gearing was perfect. For the trip there and the tight stuff.

Re: Kev's SMT modification list
Hi Kev,
I come to change the chain and sprocket.
What is your advise for teducing the bumping of the chain and jumping the bike in low rpm?
What combination of sprocket I need to buy?
Thanks

Re: Kev's SMT modification list
How do you guys swap sprockets with the chain still on? I tried to swap mine today but the chain is against where the clutch slave cylinder bolts onto so I can't get the sprocket to come all the way off

Re: Kev's SMT modification list
There's a discussion further up on this (or another entry here; search for my user name).
I have been running a 45 tooth rear sprocket, standard front.
You have to reverse the axle spacer blocks, that allows you to use the standard chain.
You will not have as much movement of the chain due to swing arm motion
(slightly shorter swing arm/wheel base/sprocket pivot point)
and presenting a larger diameter sprocket will move the chain a bit further out from the swing arm.
Works well. Brings back some of the apparent loss of power at my altitude.

Mods: arrow exhaust, 2nd flies removed, plugged air injection caps, JC30-80 air filter, 44T sprocket, 80w high beam, short levers, weighted bar ends, Rox risers, remapped ecu, heated grips, horn, radiator screen, crash bar, skid plate, backrest.

Any information is usefull. Thank you very much
Re: Kev's SMT modification list
Kev, regarding the 320 discs you used on the smt, they were asian stuff from ebay? Because you talked about 180 dollars for the upgrade, and until now all the "normal" brake rotors brands I found charge more than that for just one rotor! Anyway, if possible, tell where tou get them, and your feedback also.
I have a front brake "pulsing", and one of the rotors is clearly moving left/right at least 2mm, when the wheel rotates...

Re: Kev's SMT modification list
I would not buy the Chinese brake rotors again they developed brake shudder after a few thousand KMS.
If I was to do it again I would use these good German rotors, http://metalgear.com.au/mgear-brake-dis ... 11094.html

Re: Kev's SMT modification list
Just bought some NG 320mm RC8 wavy discs, for just 280 euros... The brand as really good feedback on the internets (they are made in Spain) http://www.ngbrakedisc.com/

Re: Kev's SMT modification list
Hola all!
Since I posted just a couple of entries above, a minor correction. The rear sprocket I put on was a Talon 44T. Not the 45 I said earlier.
Just replaced it as it is 'knackered'. ~6 week + wait for a new Talon from merry olde England. Didn't want to wait, as that will likely be past the end of the riding season.
Tried Supersprox, but they no longer show the 44T in the USA catalog, contact never confirmed with me. He was awaiting availability from Germany.
I bought a 42T from Superlite (24 oz for those that may care -- I think there are entries for various sprockets -- maybe Kevtx SMR forum).
Replaced the front with a JT 17T.
Chain is an EK 525 SRX-2 112 link in natural.

Re: Kev's SMT modification list
Kev do you still have the dimensions for fuel pump orings? Seen lots of conflicting measurements.
Do I need to replace if pulling fuel pump, to swap tanks?
