For which we are all extremely grateful Kev, and for which I believe you should make a nominal charge. Putting together a couple of pages of tech advice is one thing, but putting together a 400+ page book is way above and beyond the norm, and you really should be recompensed for it in some way. Even just a couple of dollars (£, € or whatever poeples local currency) via Paypal for each download would be a nice gesture.

Just my opinion...... ;)
This is what I do with mine....

Thanks Mate I am not really after money & am happy to share my finds just need to find the time to put it all together, I was thinking of a V Twin mod book version next with 2 sections one to finish off the SMT/SMR & the 2nd to include the 1290.

Some of the 990 topics I still have to add.

Yep I totally agree on that one, sorry if I come across the wrong way I was just wondering as it's been hinted in previous posts.

No worries you are right there were a few guys that sent a little thank you in the begining, I am only to happy if I can help other riders enjoy their motorcycle more, 80% of people in the world would not share the stuff I do for free, I like helping other riders out who have similar interests. :D I have other motor cycle hobbies that generate a little pocket money for me to help me fund my mod addiction.

It is a lot of work to put a book like this together it is my 3rd one that I have written the other 2 are on Yamaha's that I have owned, all 3 mod book downloads total over 11200 downloads as of tonight.

Note to self: When deciding which bike to buy next just pick whatever bike Kev has :D
Many thanks to you Kev. My SMT is a lot more enjoyable with your maps.

A Big Thank You to Kev for his mod book and his help !!!
I have a 2011 990 SMT.
I have fitted a set of Akrapovic end cans with baffles still in.
A base plate form George.
An ITG 30/80 air filter and I also got an 16mm ITG crank case engine breather filter form Merlin Motorsport .
I have Removed the SAS the Lamba sensors and the 2nd flies from the top of the throttle bodies.
I remapped with map #18.
I have also fitted a 16 tooth front sprocket.
The difference to the bike is amazing it runs so much smoother and pulls better even in town it is much smoother and more civilized.
The induction noise from the new air box is awesome!

Hey Kev, fantastic effort on your book. really amazing and helpful. However, I have one little problem...... Six weeks ago I bought a beautifully maintained 2010 SMT with a mere 9,200kms on the clock. (Unloaded a first generation air-cooled Multistrada in favor of the SMT). The previous owner had clearly got a copy of your fine publication and implemented many of the performance enhancing mods......Wings exhaust, SAS gone, 2nd flies gone, o2 sensors off, 16 tooth front sprocket, airbox mod,RC8 velocity stacks, re-map. Then he added a few tasty mods like the SW Motech bash plate and some nice levers.
The motor Is tuned to perfection. :)

I really have nothing more to do than ride it! However, being as I love to tinker with my bikes, I add the fog-lights using the SW Motech brackets and a F*** O** loud airhorn (mounted discreetly under the bottom triple clamp). I do my fair share of weekends away riding so the lights are great, and the horn is for the nimrods in tintops. :)

SO a great thank you to you for giving guidance to the previous owner of my simply fantastic new toy! The motor is simply outstanding and tuned beautifully.

cheers
Glenn

No worries Glenn that is what the mod book is for all the info in one place, glad you have found your way over to the forum with like minded riders, the SMT is a very under rated bike.

Moin Kev -

I felt compelled to chip in here and put a big thank you in for all the hard work compiling your e-book! Clearly a massive effort and a very interesting read. Agree with you it would be cool to have a 1290 section in there as well in v2.0 ;P

Like other owners, I'm having a hoot tweaking my 1290, just installed the Shoria battery last night (wow its so much smaller and lighter than std!) and a 16t front sprocket..

Keep up the good work and thanks again

I really need to find some time to sit down & put it all together, not sure when but really need to do it so I can move on to the 1290 edition.
