Disc Lock Idiocy

Post by SuaveDave » Thu Sep 17, 2020 6:55 pm

Tried to ride home the other day with my disc lock still attached (now I see the benefit of those tethers for the handlebar!). Of course, I didn't get far and almost tipped the bike when the lock contacted the caliper. There didn't appear to be any damage (except to my ego) but when I took the lock off and continued my journey, the brake lever went almost to the handlebar. I pumped it a couple of times and it was back where it should be but I noticed a bit of a shudder when I applied the brakes for the rest of the journey. Is it possible that I bent a disc or could it be something more sinister?
