Gunk in the clutch master cylinder

Post by Joe990roma » Fri Jul 06, 2018 5:27 pm

I've been having clutch problems. When the lever is held in it losses all pressure. Let it go and I can shift into 1st.

Last week I opened up the master and cleaned it out, loads of dark grey gunk, completely changed all oil and bleed from slave until clear red magura blood. Now when I have the master cylinder open and try to bleed it I am having tiny air bubbles and that dark gunk starts to come up.

Any ideas what the problem is?

Thanks Joe

Hi Joe,

Sounds like old fluid and air still in system?

Reverse bleed by forcing clean fluid up from slave, using a syringe. This bleeding method works really well with the SMT.
