Secondary valves screws

Post by Elvis » Fri Jun 29, 2018 6:48 pm

I want to put back my secondary valves in the throttle body to reduce the noise.
when i took them out the screws went out easily and i did not pay too much attention to them, now
when i came to installed them i see that they seems strange in the end like it was crimped after they were put in.

can i use them with adding light screw glue on the threads?

Hi Mate. I checked my parts, and yes you are right. They are indented.

Yeah, that's what I would be doing. Clean the screws and throttle pin with IPA, and apply some Loctite 222. I think 234 might be too extreme for such a small fastner in case you change your mind and want to remove the butterflies again.

I checked the KTM microfiche to see what KTM recommend (normally gives assembly advice). Looks like the throttle body is the lowest level assembly. I guess the KTM engineers didn't factor in Kev

Thanks, i could not find Loctite 222 at local store. so I bought liqui moly fine mechanics screw glue, it seems to fit the application.

Unfortunately i found fine black particles on the throttle bodies coming from the ITG filter itself so bike is now waiting DNA filter box :|
