Fueling question thanks!!! 2013 smt 990

Post by Throttletherapy65 » Sat Jan 04, 2020 5:48 pm

Hello all and happy New year!
I have done a fair amount of reading here and throughly enjoy all the good information and knowledge.....
My question is my 2013 smt 990 has a 16t sprocket change i performed and it fantastic and also i did my O2 sensors removed and blocked up holes with the Rottweiler plugs and dongles to get the low rpm stock fuel maps a little richer. Very happy with it so far.... Now the big question.... i noticed inside my stock pipes exhaust there is some carbon buildup when i put my finger in so i believe my fueling in not lean compared to my other bikes which are.... so would you think if i add a pair of slips on pipes running the DB killers i should be in the safe zone? I don’t want to do the tune ecu or power commander if i don’t have to at the moment.
Please let me know your thoughts. 2013 990 smt US model
Running 93 Sunoco ultra fuel .... thanks again

Happy new year, i am in the same process as yourself just now, Been slowly going through the bike since i bought it few months ago.I Just made up some titanium silencers for my smt and also have done the dongle and lambda removal and blank off. I have also bought a ITG filter and will be deleting my airbox and srs/system.
If your just doing silencer swap you could just do a power run at local Dyno centre?,before and after only costs few $$$.That way you know for sure whether its lean at any Rpms. Saves burning valves out if it is lean.
The Smt are lean i believe stock.

Thank you so much for the reply I’d have to find a local Dyno to know....
