Right, here's the thing. Won't be home until 11.00am after taking other half to work. Take me 20 minutes or so of fannying about before I actually leave, so I won't actually get to Loomies until about 1.00pm. Is that too late for your guys? If so, no bother, I have plenty of stuff I need to do (probabLy should be to be honest, but WTF).

Can someone make a decision! :?

I'll be long gone from Loomies by then, but should be getting to Wantage around 1.30pm, which is probably a bit more convenient if you're coming from Bath. Head for Marlborough, take the A346 south to Burbage, then at the roundabout outside town take the A338 towards Hungerford and follow it to the middle of Wantage.

Or, if you're really keen, hang about at the roundabout near Burbage until you get bored, and flag down the first orange SMT you see coming off at the right exit.

Would be good to meet Muppet let us know what you plan on doing. I'll PM my number so you can text/ring but meeting near Burbage sounds do-able. I have loads to do as am off to Aberdeen on Monday but ...the weather looks good :-)

Ok, this is a better plan, meeting at Burbage I can do easily, it means I can come along the B3098 from Westbury past the White Horse - always a laugh.

SO, I can make Burbage around 12.00 ish, does that work for you Mate, and Deepsix? I can always delay that, whatever time suits you guys. Then I'll ride up to Wantage with you, the 338 is a great road too, then maybe head back for home via Avebury from there.

There's a garage or something on that roundabout I think, isn't there?

(Edit - just Googled it and yes, there's an Esso garage showing, so good place to meet.)

Sounds like a plan - Scutty, this any good to you?

My mobile is OH 7 8 OH 3 2 OH 4 double three 8

I'm on the standard white one.

As per earlier post...

"Passing Box Hill about 9.30am, stopping at Loomies about 11am, Wantage about 1.30pm, and back to Alton around 3pm. Or a bit later if anyone needs to eat more than a twix while refuelling."

I've just checked my route and could nominate that Esso garage at Burbage for an early fuel-and-a-piss stop. Probably a bit after 1pm, depends how hard it is to get people moving at each stop and what kind of pace we're setting.

Lets not faff then. I'm not planning to stop at BH, just pass it. 2 hours should be plenty for Wimbledon to Loomies.

7 hours, 231 miles, 7 counties, two coffees, one chip butty and two tanks of unleaded.

Not a bad way to spend a Sunday.

I don't know what you mean.

Incidentally, deepsix, you need to aim those aux lights down a bit. Not sure if you've ever looked at them, but they're like main beam. Bad enough in daylight in my mirrors, but at night they're going to be downright dangerous.

Yeh I think he's got a point, at night they'd be pretty insane.

Good to meet you all and yeh ogden, good mileage today :)

They are adjustable for brightness; three settings. They were on the highest setting. You can have them only come on with main beam or all the time. At night I set them to come on only with high beam, they seem pretty aligned at night with beam spread etc. Maybe I should keep them one level dimmer during the day but they avoid some of the SMIDNSY incidents.

Maybe that was why you were trying to get away from us Ogden :D

Yeh that's what made him speed up!
If they only come on with hi beam at night that's ideal

Weather for the weekend looks OK, so I might go out for a trundle.

NW200 is on all day tomorrow, so I'll most likely be on the sofa. Anyone around on Sunday? Not decided which direction to go in yet.

Most likely candidate now is a dash down to Wiscombe in Devon to see a mate try not to fall off in a hill climb. That's assuming I get up early enough. If not, I'll look for something closer to home.

Choices, choices...
