Greets all - new to the forum, with a new '13 SMT in tow. First time off a sportsbike in years, so we'll see how me and my SMT get along!

Thanks - great job on the guide! Don't even have 200 miles on mine yet and am already looking for a way to get the bars lower and further away; nice to know I'm not the only one. SD top triple maybe?

Cheapest way is just to roll em forward. I never had the stock bar, Just the Renthal Fatbar, but in the forward most position it is way more comfortable and responsive IMO.SteveB wrote:Thanks - great job on the guide! And where might a fellow like me find such a glorious spatula?

Chattanooga sounds like some great riding country.
Confirm that your riser is in the 'forward' position. If you take a close look, you will see the riser clamps are offset from the top triple tree plate. It can easily be reversed, and should be fairly obvious which direction the offset is.

New owner of a 2010 990 SMT, 6k miles checking in.
I'm located in Salty City, Utardia. Stumbled into this forum when I started looking for oil change instructions. (The best I've seen are here in the tech section from the Aussies, of course). Pretty quiet for an international forum but time to post up and say hello mates. I've been enamored by this bike since I test rode one in Sept. 2010 at the national KTM Rally in Moab, just stumbled upon this bike as a winter time need to sell and could not pass it by.
My handle is Sweetwater County, Wyoming, USA where I had the great pleasure of growing up as a Wild Wyoming Boy, working ranches on the west side of the Wind River Mountains, skiing Jackson Hole, family motel in Bondurant, cliff diving at Flaming Gorge, great memories of sparsely populated geography, back in the day.

I'm baaaaack.....I really like my 1190R but it's wearing some expensive Karoo 3 knobby types and I found myself missing the snap and sizzle of the SMT. Winter is a great time to trade out motos here in the Western USA so........welcome to my world....another 2012 990SMT with 2600 miles....ABS and white....just finished refreshing fluids and some local canyon hooliganisms.....
