...aside from being on three different continents!

I am sure we will hear from some U.S.-based riders eventually, making it four.

So at the moment Guy, with yourself in Japan, Bagpuss in Switzerland and myself in Oz that probably makes somewhere in India the closest place to all of us...... which would be fine, though it will take some time to organise ( might have to sell one of missus' kidneys when I get there to help with the expenses though  ).

KTM must be dissapointed we can only manage three of us for a world rally event though.... and I thought the SMT was selling well :?:

If you guys are up for it, I would TOTALLY do an International SMT meet-up and ride through India!

Hardest part would be getting our bikes over there. Of course we could just rent bikes locally, but then it wouldn't be an SMT meet-up now would it. ;)

Maybe we can get KTM to sponsor the event and pay our bike shipping costs? They are probably still sore about passing on the Long Way Round trip...

Hello,
Well, I can confirm that the KTM SMT's are now on showroom floors in the USA.
I was first on my dealer's waiting list, and I purchased the bike after my test ride this past week.
I posted a picture on the "Pictures" thread.
Looking forward to renewed activity on this website as more US owners start taking delivery of their SMTs.
BTW, I live in Washington State, USA, about 20 miles east of Seattle.

(Follow up to my previous post)
Even when US owners start taking delivery, it probably won't be a flood of new owners though.
My dealer said that they got one of the bigger allocations of SMTs for 2010, and they will only be receiving FOUR for this year, one of which is sitting in my garage :D

Being based in the UK, I can organise something here. I am planning a week long trip round the British Isles late July/August 2010. Devon, Welsh Valleys, Lake Windemere, Scotland then down the East Coast back to Sussex. Drop me a line if anyone is interested.

SMT spooted in New Jersey, USA. I was looking in my side mirror, and low and behold a strapping lad clad in a yellow and black Aerostitch sitting on top of shiny new orange/black SMT 990. Oh wait, that was me!

Took delivery on Saturday, followed by 2.5 days of flooding conditions from rain!!!

Hello all!

Glen

Hey guys, just registered today and glad to be one of the distinguished few (or so it seems). BTW 'bruce990smt', there is at least one other Aussie with an SMT, I bought mine late October '09 from Procycles at Hornsby in Sydney and I love it. 5 months and just clocked 11,000km (7,000 miles), ridden only every second weekend. Can't get enough. For what it's worth, I went to the first round of theWorld Superbikes in Feb at Phillip Island, thousands of bikes and mine the only SMT in sight. Same up my local set of twisties. What's up??? ;) I joke (work commitments) but a good catch-up point would also be Malaysia, 7-8 days during the Motorcycle Grand Prix, cheap resorts, great beaches, good exchange rate, highly recommended by others. Oh well, I can dream. Take it easy all.

Picked up my new SMT today! Sammamish, Washington, USA. Outskirts of Seattle. Give a shout if you're nearby.

@modcit I'm about the closest so far. Way up north in Grande Prairie, Alberta Canada. Just picked up my SMT last week and I'm loving it. Doing the "run in" service today and I'm looking forward to using more rpm....
