Hi guys, photo of my little altercation with an Audi A3 rear wheel, hit it about 25mph, kinda surprised it folded like it did, enjoy.

Not really mate, no, couple of scratches and a buggered clutch lever.

Please elaborate on what lead up to this obliterated front wheel. Wow

Car pulled across in front of me, hit the rear wheel of the car at a weird angle, voila, knackered front wheel.

As much as I love my 2014 1290, seeing this really bothers me. I had a Honda 919 and rode with both wheels right over top of a 7" jagged rock at highway speeds (yes i kept the bike upright to be able to pull over). The rear wheel was slightly bent at the edge and the front wheel was everything but round, there was a major triangle shape in the wheel but no cracks.
If you hit a cars wheel at 25 miles per hour head on, this should never have happened. Looks to me like KTM once again is going the cheap with something as critical as the 2 things that keep you upright and rolling.

Gotta admit I was surprised at the damage to the wheel, if you look carefully, the split is a dead straight line, where I suppose, the casting of the moulds join, I know the wheels are made as light as possible, but maybe they have gone a bit far.

Looks like it was peeled away with a can opener. Just wondering how that wheel would have stood up if I went over the rock with my 1290. My guess is that the wheel would have disintegrated and I would have been severely injured or worse.
The only reason I went over the rock was because I had just got off of a weeks worth of graveyard shifts which thankfully I do not do any more.
May be a good opportunity to look at some other wheels. BST's are nice but pricey and I did notice that OZ makes some nice wheels for the 1290 but only gold or black.
