Welcome, very nice in stealth black, and you live in a great area to enjoy it.

Thank you. Everything on that bike is stock, so there's a lot of room for improvements. I'm coming from a 2009 Versys 650 with a very snatchy throttle and a clutch pull that only Arnie the Terminator could use, so I think I'll be ok initially with the snatchy throttle on the SMT. I've downloaded the whole TuneECU bag of goodies, but that's something that I need to study up on very carefully before I do anything. The Swiss MoT are incredibly strict and having a bike that no longer conforms to the emission regulations will result in a lot of tears for me.

Firstly, I'm just going to get to know the bike better, etc. As you said, Switzerland is a dream for twisties. My after work blast is a 20 to 40 kilometre run of hairpin after hairpin. It scares the shit out of me depending on traffic, so I'll polly need new nappies for the SMT.

Welcome dude 8-)

Wow! Only 6300 km...(!)
Congratulations to a very good motorcycle :-)

It's very nice to paint the front fender in gloss black as well. Every part is nicer with gloss black, in my holy opinion.

Ohhh nooo 'sabestian'! Don't you try with me...(!) :D
(I didn't write that sentence about carbon look!)

Mine is almost all in gloss black now - and is MUCH nicer than the boring and 'dirty' matt black.

I kind of prefer gloss black myself. Would have loved to have gotten a 2013 bike, but those are a rare and elusive animal.

Having had the bike a few months now, I've already clocked up a $570 fine for speeding (102km/h in an 80km/h zone, Switzerland is incredibly expensive in everything, including fines). As for the bike, the snatchy throttle was almost too much for me for a while and I wondered if I'd made a mistake, but then, the interwebs came to my rescue in the form of the tip of riding with one or two fingers on the brake lever and it's made a world of difference. This bike is simply a dream. Utter fun.

Hi 'thebomby'

Ouch! 570 dollars fine.... f**k... It's the same here in Sweden, I'v heard. A friend almost lost his driving license once, speedeing like 145 km/h at an 110 km/h road. With passenger. That was stupid, I have to say.

AHA
All of a sudden I understand why people say that the throttle is so snatchy! Because they hold the throttle grip with all the fingers :-) I don't, I'v always got 1 or 2 fingers on top of the brake lever ;-) That stabilise the hand and thus not that snatchy throttle :D

Hi thebomby (you name a surfing reference ? :)

Nargh, just get some panniers and wear I high vis fest, and the cops will wave you through mate. The SMT looks like a "250 chook chaser", yet how little do they know

Fines are expensive here. 22km/h over the limit would be about $800AUD here, plus 3 demerit points. Over 45km/h, the cop cuts up your licence with scissors.
