I had that same screen and found it very turbulent. Switched to OEM short screen for now for cleaner air. Well done and enjoy!

I worked out the resize photo option. I was meant to say

I've a read a few great posts on this site and I thought Id have a have to introduce myself è lei.
The beast has 55,000 km and was purchased 2nd owner from 2012. I heard about it through my local mechanic, a trust worthy guy. It wasnt on my list of bikes to choose but after reading a few reviews and alwqys having a desire to try ktm i went for it. Beaitiful machine, i agree with the agricultural feel of the engine and the stance supermoto scrambler. Before this I've been driving a 07 hornet, great bike rome city centre, passes all the regulation checks and it's cheap. They have a tendency to steal expensive motorcycles here. Can't say which nationality as I'm Irish in italia. I've driven a few different machines mainly Japanese but I have to say I'm very impressed with the ktm, price was great also.

Clutch reservoir leaking, a little. A bit of oil or grease? On the gear selector side of the engine and a bit flaking front fender. That's about as technical as I get. Anything I should be looking out for, special oil elixirs you ktm owners have discovered along the way?

Yeah you're right. I don't do a little of motorway driving but I felt it the other day. I have the original screen and exhausts. I've been thinking of changing both and getting rid of the box. Until then I can't stop driving

Just hit 70000 miles on my SMT. The latest thing to let go is the oil pressure switch. Keep an eye on the o-ring behind the gear selection switch. 3 of the oil 4 oil leaks it has developed in the last 7 years were from there.
If you ain't living on the edge, you're taking up too much room.

Leaking clutch reservoir could be master cylinder seals. There is a piston kit which is very easy to install. Some will say that once the piston seals start to leak it means the piston housing is worn and a piston kit will be a short-lived repair. However (touch wood) I replaced mine 7000 miles ago and its been fine.

I use 10w-50 Castrol 1 Racing oil in mine on the recommendation of the independent KTM workshop who do the servicing. They been working on LC8 engines since the day they came out and they've used Castrol 1 Racing for years. They've had 990s through their hands still running sweetly with over 70,000 miles on them so that's good enough for me.

As MotoP says, oil pressure switches can leak as can the water pump gasket. Though if there is coolant sitting on top of the water pump housing rather than running down underneath it it can be the hoses themselves that are leaking at the joints. Mine did that. A clean at service time and some new clips solved it.

Some have poorly greased head stock bearings. Mine went at 8000 miles. Another easy fix.

I run a Palmer screen on mine. Not cheap but by far the best screen I've tried on this bike.

Just about to do my oil and filter so will order up some Castrol, because my arse can't take the stretching that Motorex prices give when I've been losing it from a leak for the past month and a half. [WINKING FACE]

I haven't touched it since last time I posted. Just been driving. Great. BUT yesterday I had a friend on the back and went for a drive few minutes in the engine started losing power around 6 revs :( had to nurse it home changing gears. I've did a little research and to be honest I haven't the patience so I'll give it bring it to the mechanic. Hope this doesn't cost $$$$

Could just be something simple like a clogged fuel filter.

Hope so. Monday I'll leave it in. Keep you all posted. If it was something simple I'd have a go but I just don't trust myself or these shovel hands

Did you ever found out what was causing the issue?

It's going well. It ended up being the fuel pump, the mechanic substituted it with another to save a few quid. I haven't had a problem since.

A wee update:

Smt is going well. I haven't had any problems since the fuel pump , apart from a broken mount for the back box. Now welded.

Great bike, I'll keep her until I can't ride anymore or.... she goes to sleep.

The mechanic changed the pump to some similar, maybe jap, not sure. I know it was cheaper and helped get back on the road quicker. Ktm wanted to sell the whole unit only. Make sure the bar is correct as adv 1 is different.

No upgrades or mods, yet. Considered engine map but in the end I decided against only to save time and bread.

Few pics:)
