New Guy

Post by felix890 » Tue Nov 15, 2016 11:18 am

Hi,

After recently switching my BMW S1000R for a 2011 KTM SMT (all black), I have been reading quite a few post on this forum. Although I have had a motorbike or two over the years, I have to say that there aren't many forums as dedicated and filled with quality advice as this one.

Main reason I switched to the SMT is that it offers a much more comfortable riding position. Even after a full day you get off it without any sore spots...

I mainly ride in the southern part of the Black Forest (Germany) and go on extended trips two or three times a year. On one of my trips this year, we spent an entire week in the French Alps...which is an absolute paradise to ride this bike. Twisty roads with a milion switch backs going all the way up to 2800 meters above sealevel, featuring some of the most incredible views you come across in the Alps.

Unfortunately I don't have any better pictures...but it shows my setup pretty well.
- All black
- Akra slip ons
- Motor guard (rails and plate)

Also I have an additional touring screen, which I never use for it is hideous, and an SMR seat for the occassional after work lap.

Currently thinking about getting some colorfould decals and the SM / SMR passenger holds in the back. Might remove the original mirrors / hand guards and fit a pair of bar-end mirrors. Also I have the Rottweiler SAS removal kit laying around just waiting to be installed.

That's pretty much it for now, should any of you live close by and fancy a ride or just want to get together, just let me know....

P.S.: big Moto GP fan

Cheers
Felix

Welcome dude!

Nice bike - and I bet it would be even nicer with some colorful decals on it :-)

Wow!....... now that's what you call adding a splash of colour . I own the same all black scheme and was considering rim tape and WP graphics for the forks. A bit of less is more if you like. It's all down to personal taste of course so whatever floats your boat mate.
