Re: Ordered a rear wheel socket from Racefoxx

Socket arrived today, 41 days after order was placed. Perhaps I should have asked about shipping times when I ordered. Anyhow, if ordering from Racefoxx in Remscheid, Germany, be prepared for a six-week delivery to the USA. Interestingly, the Abba stand I ordered from England arrived in less than on...

Opinions vary...I think the OEM is pretty unsightly. ..and the Puig is just plain awful.

But, opinions do vary.

Re: Anyone try a Madstad windscreen yet?

I bought a CalSci...got the medium size. Very happy with it. Keeps cold air off better than OEM. Less expensive than Madstad

Re: Warranty coverage for 2016 SDGT?

Copied and pasted from KTM Warranty Statement: "PERIOD OF WARRANTY FOR 2016 MODEL KTM MOTORCYCLES SOLD IN THE U.S.A... Re: Pushing the GT in 1st gear

I've been riding since 1965 and have owned and ridden a lot of bikes. I've never seen one that was as easy to push in first gear with the clutch lever pulled back as it is in neutral including dry-clutch race bikes. In my experience they all exhibit clutch drag to one degree or another. My SD-GT is...

Re: Warranty coverage for 2016 SDGT?

I bought a demo. Turns out that KTM warranty clock starts when bike is placed in demo service, NOT when it is retailed. This policy is different from most other manufacturers. It is also different from all car/truck warranties that I am familiar with. I bought my bike in October 2017; my warranty ex...

Re: Warranty coverage for 2016 SDGT?

This SDGT is first new bike I have purchased since 1971...always have bought used bikes otherwise. Its ironic that the SDGT has only a slightly better warrantee than all the used bikes I've bought thru the years, which had none at all. It is curious that AUS bikes of the same model year and same mod...

Re: Warranty coverage for 2016 SDGT?

The second batch of GTs imported to NZ, came from the US, and for us, we get a 24 month full warrantee. Thats a minimum here for all new vehicles. Wondering how "full" your wty is, vs. ours. For 2016 Superduke R, (again, the GT is not mentioned) in the USA, items NOT covered by warranty would inclu...

Re: No start?

Put battery on a charger for couple hours, and she fired right up. Here's hoping battery holds the charge... It's only 4 months old. If not, I'll have to buy one, 'cause battery is not covered under warranty (assuming 2016 SDGT has a warranty). Guess I oughta buy one of those jumper packs, too. Anti...

Warranty coverage for 2016 SDGT?

In reading the KTM warranty coverage for 2016 bikes sold in the USA, the SDGT is not listed. The Superduke R however, is listed. Coverage is described as 12 months/12,000 miles for engine, frame and swingarm only. No other components are covered. I am surprised to see such limited coverage for the S...

Re: No start?

Has plenty of gas; filled up at favorite BP station last week on the way home. Good question, tho'. Called the dealer this afternoon. He said try charging the battery. Even though battery is strong enough to turn the engine over, and get it to cough, it may not be turning fast enough to start and ru...

No start?

My 2016 SDGT wouldn't start today. 2800 miles, no problems before. Been colder than normal here, but bike is parked inside garage, where it's never cooler than 50°F. Engine turns over, coughs once, then dies. Attempts to restart have same result: crank, cough, die. Crank, cough, die. No hints on dis...

Re: Ordered a rear wheel socket from Racefoxx

Well, I got word that my socket finally came ashore in New York. Couple more weeks, and maybe it'll get to me. When I ordered it, I didn't realize it would be shipped by sail boat, LOL! But then again, could you sail from Europe to New York in less than four weeks? I dunno...how fast are sailing shi...

Re: Fuel range displayed

The fuel guage seems to work fine. Computed mpg seems correct as shown on display. Only the distance to empty seems awry...and if it said "km" instead of "mi" after the digits, it would be correct. Consequently, I do the mental math of multiplying the displayed number by 0.6 to get miles to empty. E...

Thanks, Dave. I've been all through the menu several times, even resetting shift light, and next service interval. Nevertheless, I'll give it another go tomorrow. Couldn't hurt anything, eh?

Fuel range displayed

I have a 2016 SDGT, and really like it. I'm curious about the fuel range as displayed on the dash. Immediately after a fill up, the fuel range shows "340mi". I presume this means 340 miles to empty. However, it is physically impossible to have a tank range of over 300 miles. I have heard it said tha...

Re: Ordered a rear wheel socket from Racefoxx

I like the racefoxx design with the longer inside round that fits inside the rear shaft and keeps the socket in. Makes it one man job Yah, I liked it, too. Inside design is one reason I chose it. Also, it's a 1/2" drive, not 3/4", so no adapter needed. Just hoping it gets here before springtime. I ...

Re: Ordered a rear wheel socket from Racefoxx

This one is made in Colorado and is being sold in the UK and the EU at www.Superdukecarnage.com And available domestically in the US at http://katatak.bigcartel.com/product/ktm-1290-superduke-rear-axlel-socket-60mm I believe he is traveling now. Yup...I perhaps should have ordered that one instead....
