Re: Cam lobes damaged!

So I got interested in oils and downloaded some tech specs...... I'm not an oil specialist....... but at least I could compare KTM's Motorex 4T ( Formula 15w50 semi syn and Top Speed 10w40/15w50 full syn) to the Motul 5100 4T 10w50 I have used for over 12 years in my Honda (with no valve wear/oil us...

Re: GT missing from KTM site

G'day doggy,

That retro fit might be a mission...... but I wonder if the extra set of cornering lights might be an advantage on a dark rainy night out on a lonely country road?

Re: '16 vs '17 GT

Just to add to the other Dave's words of wisdom...... my GT is the 2017 version (has LED rear indicators) but it was actually assembled in Nov 2016. So I think the issue might be more about the assembly of the initial 2016 builds. The later 16's like DaveNZ's appear to be fine. Have a look on the le...

Re: Well That Was a Surprise...

Welcome back jj....... :) Have the nurses shown you how to do the 'coughing' exercises without busting your chest.....(?) They showed me how to cuddle a pillow and cough - after a coupe of days of really painful attempts at crossing my arms in the brace position (if I was quick enough). So hug that ...

Re: Cam lobes damaged!

Crikey  ....... that's considered as ok......... glad they had a rethink!

I'm in the "change oil at half recommended interval" camp like DaveNZ. (I use 15w50 in V2's, 10w50 in my 4cyl CBR1100xx).

Hope I don't see cam lobes like those when I get to 30,000kms.

Re: fuel pump or fuel filter fail

Hi all, there is a recall out on fuel pumps/filters which would likely be the solution to stalling/loss of power issues on some 1290's. I have yet to hand my GT in for the recall (I haven't had any issue with the fuel pump but will do the recall when able)....... but my guess would be some of the pu...

Re: Well That Was a Surprise...

Best wishes on a great outcome jjscx6..... ;) It is amazing how well you will feel within a few days of the big op....... they usually show patients the door after only 5 days recovery......... naturally you will be pretty banged up for 6-8 weeks, but the soreness goes away quickly, although you'll ...

Re: Constands CENTRAL STAND EVO or Abba SUPERBIKE

Used my Abba with front wheel lift accessory yesterday, while installing new front tire for my SDGT. Worked like a champ! Easy, stable. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk G'day Mr C....... :) Just curious...... how did you attach the lift strap? Did you put a 'pin' into the rear axle or does Abba s...

Re: Constands CENTRAL STAND EVO or Abba SUPERBIKE

Re: Constands CENTRAL STAND EVO or Abba SUPERBIKE

Cheers Mr Clogan....... I don't think they offer the front lift combo like the Abba stand....... but I didn't require it as I already have a 'La Corser' front steering stem lift stand (another KTM stand copy which I can use even in my dilapidated post surgery state  ). Had I known what I know n...

G'day supergt, Has your GT got the silver heat shield sock around the rear exhaust pipe? I only notice some heat when I stop at traffic lights and even then it's not uncomfortble...... just noticeable...... but I am 32" leg and 5' 9.5" for comparo. Well....I'm an idiot. I've read somewhere on here that the Angel GT's feel shitty under inflated and l believe thats exactly what it was. I thought that something just went wrong with the bike recently or l was pushing the bike more since l was used to it. Every since my dealer turned off my tpms I...
