Re: 2016 KTM 1190 to a 2019 KTM 790

G'day Ponzi, I'm a 61 yrs young 1290SDGT owner...... there is logic in your decision to change to a lighter easier to handle 790, and the 790 has plenty of poke for solo riding/touring (I think it makes 100hp at the rear tyre so it won't be slow). I'd have to say a decent test ride (say for a couple...

Sooo, what's the dealership say (have you had it inspected yet?)....... surely it will be a warranty item if it is a manufacturing quality issue?

Re: Need a new battery

Hi all, Got enthused after getting muddled with battery casing dimensions and waddled out to the GT hangar...... Ok, pulled oem Yuasa out and it is exactly same dimensions as the Vspec battery I purchased for my CBR1100XX. SSB Vspec is same size as Yuasa SDGT.jpg SDGT Yuasa beside SSB Vspec equiv.jp...

Re: Need a new battery

Hmmmm, sounds odd that Yuasa wouldn't have a battery for the GT....... I have a SSB Power Sport branded VTZ14S battery that I bought from my KTM/Suzuki/Ducati/etc dealership for my Honda CBR1100XX, but it appears the same size as the Kato's battery and I might fit it to the GT if my 9-10 months of n...

Re: Dash blanked out after stall and restart

G'day jjsc6 & rock, I have noticed my GT battery drains down with inactivity (more than my 05 CBR1100xx) and agree with jjsc's analysis. I also have been long term sidelined from riding, running my GT monthly to operating temp, then in a few days time putting it on charge for a day (C-Tek smart char...

Re: Reset service indicator 2014 to 2016 models

Hi all, I tried the original post's procedure but it wouldn't do anything, so i asked on the GT forum and a nice video with verbal's appeared........ I'll try this on my 017 1290SDGT....... it has the same dash. Just got to switch ign on first then select Settings and do the two button hold....... ;...

Re: Service Icon Re-set - Anyone know to?

Cheers Mark,

The procedure in the SDR forum advised to hold the arrow buttons then switch ignition on...... whereas this video shows it working with ignition first........ 8-) - makes sense - I'll have another go - many thanks 8-).

Ps WORKS PERFECTLY ON 2017 1290SDGT......... :D

Service Icon Re-set - Anyone know how to?

G'day all,

I recently read in the SDR section about a procedure to reset the service icon kms & date but it didn't work on my 17GT (non TFT dash).

Anybody been lucky enough to discover the button push sequence for 017SDGT's :?:

Re: 1290 SUPER ADVENTURE VERY DISAPPOINTED

I think the dealerships were on the back foot with KTM technology way back in 2016. They are much more experienced nowdays and either do better pre-delivery work or know what tweaks are needed after talking to an owner and how to do them. (I hear stories about Ducati/Aprilia/BMW/Triumph.....they all...

Re: ABS kicking in & rotor hot after re-assembling rear wheel/axle

Hi all, I have a 017 SDGT and the speedo error is under 2% with oem Angel GTs. Will vary a little with different tyre brands though. I was reading the original post (damaged ABS sensor ring) and recalled a comment one of my KTM dealership mechanical guys said about another customer getting a tyre fi...
