Re: C-light Failure XC-2 Mapping

Good idea TCC...... did you send a PM as well?

This forum had a couple of issues earlier in the year, and may have lost a few contributors due to being locked out or very slow navigation..... Dewayne may not be a regular so a PM might alert him to reconnect.

Re: C-light Failure XC-2 Mapping

Cheers TCC...... I see where I went off the rails..... ..... and i was thinking the indicators would be the test to confirm connections. It reads like KTM may have installed the 19 ECU software (?) - I had that done in June and it fixed the weak rebound damping and updated some engine maps and...

Re: Seven warranty claims, and counting

Update: I started this thread in May 2018. Well, it's now almost a year and a half later, and I'm happy to report that my bike has been totally trouble free. With a bit over 12,000 miles on the odometer, all I have done is oil changes and tire replacements. I had to take a few months off from ridin...

Re: Any reliable SD-GT's out there?

Cheers DaveNZ...... you lucky bugger...... it's stifling hot over here and there are many fires causing road closures for interstate travelers ..... and even some local roads on the sunshine coast and to the west in the ranges around Toowoomba...... Have a great ride (I know you will on that 100% re...

Re: Any reliable SD-GT's out there?

Day 9... Home.... 4.41pm turdsday... 3,037kms... KTM ran faultlessly.... one Ducati MS1200 had a no start, once, the other broke its panner lugs and we had to strap a case on the seat, the HD had to go to Sydney for a new rear tyre .jpg G'day Sprayvid, Corroded oil filler neck..... you must ride on...

Re: C-light Failure XC-2 Mapping

Check that the C-lights have been plugged in behind the tank spoilers....... I have made that mistake when putting my tank back on (forgot to reconnect the C-light leads)...... read up how to unscrew and remove the spoilers - it's a bit of a fiddle (don't want to overstress or break any plastic lugs...

Re: DID chain.

Cheers Dave'o....... you probably should have bought a longer length chain and a 17/42 combo and just re-riveted to length...... the GT is so deceptively tall geared...... I'm liking the 16/40 on mine, but I miss the slightly stronger feeling of torque you get from the 17t...... so going +4 on the r...

Re: Hi from Sydney, Australia

G'day Terry. I'm Dave..... in Brisbane...... happy to answer any questions. I've had my 17SDGT since new in Feb 2017 and have put nearly 26,000kms on it. The other Dave in NZ has over 30k up. On the other more active forum (KTM forum) there are guys that have over 40k and one mad rider with 100k kms...

Yes.... what the other Dave says....... he and I are twins  ...... even though we have never met and are from different countries....... :) . Some guys have had the embarrassment of eyeballing the bitumen - it's the nature of the beast with it's tall gearing and strong/sudden ride by wire throt...

Greetings phatdoughnut, Nice colour..... sure stands out in a crowd ;) . 1100 miles already...... only a few 000 more and it will be fully loosened up! Does your's have Angel GT's as oem tires? If you feel they are a bit slippery at the high book pressures, try running around 35psiF and 37psiR - tho...

G'day ChevyM...... I'm sad to hear of your troubles, and even sadder to read you have to sell that beautiful bike  ...... We have zero SDGT's in stock on Aussie dealer's floors...... no new bikes until May 2020, so you'd sell it quick over here! I hope you try posting on a few forums - try the ...

Re: F1 light on after sas removal and dongle fitted

My KTM mech said the fault warning will go away after 3 on/off ignition cycles..... if the error was a phantom and is not still current....... so try several starts and rides and see if it auto corrects. Double check the sas removal has been done per the Rottweiler video. Also, I installed a purge v...

It gets easier second time around...... just remember to turn both fuel taps back on when it's all together again.

PS the instructions from the booster plug website are excellent.......

Re: Ducati 1260 vs sdgt 19?

G'day Sim124381....... Both are great bikes..... your Ducati has a center stand, the SDGT does not and this makes lubing the chain easily on a long trip a pain in the arrrr.... even with the ever so clever 'Snapjack SS' prop stand. I have the 17 model SDGT with the 19 software update..... it's very ...

Have you been in to get the 2019 ECU upgrade yet....... the new software is free (dealer just charges $50 to install as it takes 30mins)...... and it fixes the lack of rebound damping in all modes and it works 3x faster than the oem 16-17-18 software. I don't do track days, so DaveNZ etc are the exp...

 ..... I should mention that while the O2 dongles reduce the cylinder head/exhaust temps, they dramatically increase the Cat heat near your ankles....... I think the guys that have de-catted their Gt's have had the best outcome using the O2 dongles. Also, the 19 model's software can be download...

G'day Allan65....... I'm a Dave62 (next month)..... but I have a 2017 1290SDGT with just over 20k kms now. It's on the sporty side of sport touring, but is one super competent sport tourer. The seat is hard, but can be made more comfortable with a sheep skin or gel pad in place, or the power parts K...
