Re: Fuel tank dampening removal?

I hate the noise of the Rotty at idle. Sounds ok when your moving & on the throttle, then it just blends in with the tone of the exhaust. I cant see it making a difference. Theres a lot of square inches of filter with the Rotty, & if the bike is capable of 265 + Kph with that stock lawn mower air fi...

Re: What did you do to your ktm today?

Rode it like I stole it! Left all my cares (and a lot of rubber, apparently...) in the 10-mile. I just can't see how people would prefer to pull it apart and "improve" it when it shreds like this already ;) http://i1000.photobucket.com/albums/af127/NiteKreeper01/20170310_1321201_zps20tckxtl.jpg htt...

Re: Hold on 2017 SDR release?

I had a full race 2011 ZX10 with Kawi race ECU, dyno tuned & full ohlins suspension. Wicked bike. BUT, when I 1st rode the 1290 last fall & took the TC off I said to a friend. This bike has to much power, its the 1st bike that scares me. After about 350 km of feeling it out Im quite comfortable wit...

Re: Hold on 2017 SDR release?

^^ :D :D. That's all good, relatable. Well. I cant compare the new Multi to the SDR but I know the SDR kicks the old Multis ass. 2 different bikes tho. The Pikes Peak & the Pani. The best of the Ducati look. The Ducati design team has always been a step ahead of the others, IMO. I think U guys are g...

Re: Hold on 2017 SDR release?

^^^ 3 Multistradas,, why? Up until I bought the 1290 I thought my Multi was the funnest street bike I had ever had. (im a 59 yr old kid) It has a full Termi exhaust, race ECU & upgraded suspension. I bought it after I gave up racing. I had a full race 2011 ZX10 with Kawi race ECU, dyno tuned & full ...

http://i.imgur.com/YrDhJ9qh.jpg http://i.imgur.com/I5j38r8h.jpg BDG. You wouldn't want to be here now. Minus 24 C this morning. I probably wouldn't do the plates thing again. The plates & & pegs were purchased used at the same time. There might be more then 1/2 inch gained. I just checked the stock...

Re: Desperately wanting a GT but.........

http://i.imgur.com/E87uxTUh.jpg http://i.imgur.com/RfR28vGh.jpg Just a word. Most rearsets are for racing. They allow for the pegs to go higher & further back. I have the Moto Hooligan plates on my SDR. They do the same. Back further & up higher. The MFW Racing pegs allow for about 1/2 inch of lowe...

^^ Like I said B4. Go big or stay at home. You have gone BIG. BSTs & the AR pipe. I hope U went with the HI-Slung? Mine should be here by the end of the week. I hope the sound isn't to loud.

Not that the stock tires are complete shit. But,, are U upgrading them as well?

Re: build quality/fit & finish

Sometimes less is more. I was just working on my 2010 Multi today & it brought back some memories. Functionally it really hasent let me down. Fit & finish WERE nice at one time. These plastic tanks sure have thrown the lines off in its last few yrs. Imbedded nuts in the tank that spin freely make ta...

Re: Tank Removal

If #2 that U highlighted is what your talking about. No, that is just a overflow line that should have no pressure. Or did you bust that piece? For some reason I don't think my rad cap is like the one in your display.
I will check later.

Re: 1290R SAS Removal question

^^ True, they are a little short but I thought the ones coming off the emissions/charcoal box were longer? . On the Rotty video don't they unplug another gizmo(vacuum pump I believe) Don't U need to put a resistor in that connection to fool the ECU? I did. I think Kev mentioned that in one of his th...

Re: Gas tank pressurised

http://i.imgur.com/OHJ4Pg3l.jpg Do you mean like these Dave? Plus the hoses & other crap. I think that stuff is common on both bikes?? That flapper valve in the exhaust is another story. Hopefully Allen has his GT working well. Little issues like what he is having can leave a bad taste in one mouth.

Re: Gas tank pressurised

^^Ok. Interesting. A little vacuum pump to suck the fumes out? That's what all that crap was? :)
My SDR may have had something similar.
I can understand the concern of buying a NEW bike & having all these little unknowns. It shouldn't happen & it would be a piss off.

Re: Gas tank pressurised

^^^ WHAT, Check your coolant, ask them to replace your fuel pump? That's crazy. The service manager would laugh you out of the shop. Allen, check your fuel tank overflow hose. I suspect it was plugged. On my 2015 1290 SDR it is on the left hand side of the bike at the back of the tank, bottom of cou...

Re: Momentary loss camchain tension?

Interesting video. Doesn't give me much confidence in our cam chain tensioners. But if our tensioners are the hydraulic ones then the answer is in the video. The motor has to be running. I like some of these posts. They may be of no value to the guys that just ride & take their bikes to a mechanic t...
