Re: Rear shock rebuild at 36K miles.

Why rear shoch has to be maintained? Well it has nitrogen pressure inside and that will eventually leak out and the the damping is gone. I also work out with mountainbike and those shocks last only max 1 year before need to rebuild. Fork is different story, but there is big difference after bushings...

Re: SM-T started to vibrate??

Some Vibration is still there but only when engine is really hot. Took the bike to dealer eventually, and they measured fuel pressure, which was ok. Also the error codes were read and no problems there. Next step will be tune ecu cable, and new map, I'm certain that it runs lean when hot. Since it w...

Re: Pulse generator failed

Mt-10 suspension travel is much shorter and therefore it can never been as good other than smooth surfaces. Other thing was that saddle is probably uncomfortable on longer rides. Motor and handling was very nice. With touring screen and saddle probably very good. SMT engine and supermoto style frame...

Re: SM-T started to vibrate??

Ok, thx! I think that finally found the problem: opened clutch cover yesterday evening and found 3 bolts which were not tight. After torqueing those, vibration was less but not perfect. Then I thought that maybe clutch center nut is loose and opened clutch again: nut was not loose. Then built the cl...

Vibrating engine, blocked fuel pump or something loose in clutch?

Motor is tightly bolted. New cush in sprocket, Vibration increases by speed and really skakes at higher rpm. Now I see 2 potential things to try at home. One is changing the fuel filter, someone said that it can caude vibrations. Another is to open clutch cover, and make sure that bolts are in. Is t...

Re: SM-T started to vibrate??

Cush changed and it did help. Probably need to change the sprocket bolts as well. Tried to shake front sprocket by hand and there is just small movement as I was afraid of. How difficult is to change the bearing to drive shaft? Or expensive if mechanic does it? Guess you can do it from outside? Up-d...

Re: How do you change the Cush?

Just did it. I drilled a hole through the rubber, as big as possibe. Then with metal grinder drill and flat screwdriver made a cut outer and inner metal part (from the drilled hole). Then with long screw driver and hammer tapped pieces from other side. No need to break those otherwise, just one hole...

Re: SM-T started to vibrate??

Continuoing the root cause analysis, probably: Chain was a tad too tight for 2 up riding with bags (10mm clearance), this gave stress to motor bolts, and to sprocket cush. Cush was already warn out, and gave even more vibration to bike and motor connections. Yesterday when riding slowly at city, I n...

Re: SM-T started to vibrate??

Ordered new set of rubbers, will change those as first step. Let's hope there is nothing else additionally. When rotating sprocket by hand I feel click and click on both ends (tooth movement app 6 mm), so I think there is zero rubber damping, and metal faces metal.

Re: SM-T started to vibrate??

All bolts were tightened and everything was looking to be ok, at least when riding solo. Today first trip 2up, and the vibration is back from 80 kmh. After riding further, motor vibrates also when accelerating wo gear. Motor bolts were not 100% tight anymore. What can cause heavy vibration when ridd...

Re: Strange front vibration during brake

Big part of the problem is that floating disc. Had 2 street triple r's with radial Nissins and w/o floating discs. Zero problem, and disc did not get warped by heat. My smt brembo pistons were not stuck, and quite clean. Only disc and buttons were worn. 20k.

Re: SM-T started to vibrate??

I tightened the triangular motor attacment points from front. All were loose. Much better. Thread wo nut, below the motor is indeed motor attacment, and needs to be fixed. Unfortunately thread is not in good condition, and bolt needs to be renewed. So most probably this gave the vibrations. Check re...

Re: Strange front vibration during brake

I had heavy pulsing in smt and followed all the steps with cleaning calipers and pads, and cleaning buttons-no luck. Then I bought one new disc, and changed it to side, where I measured very small side play. At the same time I noticed that middle of the disc braking surface is worn more than on side...

Re: M7RR replace Avon Ultra sport 3D

Fitted Roadtec 01 rear, and after worn pr2 it is really good, on tour and fast roads and tire shape and turning seem good par with conti sportattack 2 up front. Next summer I'll change Roadtec01 also up front.. Been also considering some metzeler spot tyre to front but according their table, the rec...

SM-T started to vibrate??

Was on 600 kms travel yesterday with bags and lady. Bike started to vibrate, at the beginning there was small vibration and then increased quite a bit. No special sound or smoke or oil consumption, temp is normal. Increases by rpm, not related to gear. If I accelerate by standing next to bike I don'...
