Re: KTM 1290 Super Adventure. My Review
Cheers Kev, it was a lovely bike and despite the weather, I enjoyed the privilege of riding it. It's not the bike for me but I can fully understand the market KTM have aimed this bike at. I just hope it will be what that market expects it to be!

KTM 1290 Super Adventure. My Review
Hello, Thought I'd give a little bit of feedback regarding my 300 miles on a "borrowed" 1290 Super Adventure. For starters, I really like the look of the bike, the white front fender looks great with the white tanks covers, and they're a mat finish too. The engine starts like a fire laced with petro...

Re: SMR or 1190 ADV??
At the end of the day mate, you've got to choose the bike that suits what you are going to use it for most of the time. Seems like you are more of a hooligan type than ride out type. I do agree, Sport mode is ballistic and imo, anybody that wants more than the raw 150hp this kick out in that mode sp...

Re: SMR or 1190 ADV??
Once you've ridden it, you'll buy it
IMO the 1190 power and sound is addictive, even with standard exhaust, and the handling is light and predictable.
Good luck.

Re: SMR or 1190 ADV??
I had an SMT and now have a non R Adventure. Love it AND even though I thought the SMT was a great bike, I think I would be disappointed going back to an SMT now after owning an RC8 [emoji41]

Re: How does your 1190 start?
Rang the dealer today, they did confirm that there is an update on the software to deal with the starting issue which is automatically done at the service, which, apparently my bike is due :( and batteries aren't covered under warranty after 3 months, double :( :( Bought a new battery from Tanya, it...

Re: Chain Tensioning 1190
Its not a great deal clearer but a better picture which to be arrowing to the outer side of the chain. The chain guides aren't expensive but my word, its a PITA to change them lol.
I'll adjust it with maximum tolerance and keep an eye on it.

Chain Tensioning 1190
Hi, I'm having to change my chain guide after tensioning my chain incorrectly. I misinterpreted the sticker and over tightened it. Can someone clarify how to tension the chain correctly on the 1190 Adventure please. I now understand the 45mm is the play, not the distance from the swing arm like the ...

It's does yes but it still wobbles a bit. Not like it's got shingles but more than I'd like lol.

Re: How does your 1190 start?
Hopefully they will get it sorted. I'm not confident enough to be a cocky bleeter about it just yet cause sods law will make it not start just after I've said something daft lol.

Re: Sat Nav mount
Update on this, it does fit the Garmin quick mounting bracket. It does actually say so on some specs for the bracket but not all. It's a nice position for the sat nav but is does wobble/vibrate quite a bit at lower speeds

Re: How does your 1190 start?
Well, it's going to be going back to the dealer soon as it failed to start the other day after having been used the day before. What's your run voltage at? Mine sits at 13.9-14v which I think is a bit low. I would have guessed it should have been 14.5-14.7v while running at riding speeds. Hoping a g...

It's been a lovely weekend here
Had a great weekend with KT. Not many miles but I'm loving the versatility of the rider modes. Spent all day today on single track bumpy roads, suspension set to comfort and power set to rain. So smooth. The burble from the wings exhaust is hypnotising [emoji3]

How does your 1190 start?
Mine isn't happy to start when cold but I'm thinking it's to do with fuel. I switch my ignition on and let the fuel pump run till it stops. Ignition off until the relay clicks, on until the fuel pump stops then crank. The engine cranks till it pops out of the exhaust and I stop. Ignition off and on ...

I thought the same about the Garmin but being a tight Cumbrian, wanted reassurance it will fit before parting with hard earned shekels lol.
