Dave, if you can find some acrylic solvent (sold in plastic stores), it's very thin and wicks into cracks quite well. Apply it carefully on the hole surface (not the Whole surface) and it might work.

      Re: Aux lights

Yammer, I had Denalis on my Tiger 1050 (which had totally shit oem lights, btw), and they were problematic but good when they worked. A friend had clearwater on his Buell, never had problems. It might be worth a run up to Sacto when I have the time... and $$. Thanks for the tip.

      Re: Aux lights

Dave, the hi-beam is pretty good, but the low is not too bright, and the spread could be better. The cornering LEDs are a nice feature, but when they're not on, the periphery is not well lit. Adding a set of driving lights provides a stunning improvement in your ability to see what's on the edges (a...

      Aux lights

Has anyone added LED auxiliary lights to their GT? I see kits for other KTMs, but wondered about mounts and harnesses specific to the GT. I had Denalis on my Tiger 1050 (which had notoriously shitty OEM headlights), and they were a worthwhile (if overpriced) addition. A good deal of my commuting is ...

      Re: Crash Protection

Thanks, Dave. The bundle from the company is $290 USD, but the case covers are clearly the most important. The fairing by my reckoning sticks out about 5 1/2" past the frame on both sides, so the frame sliders probably wouldn't protect the fairing, but what would? The axle sliders would be nice, but...

      Re: Crash Protection

DaveNZ, You said you fitted the TRex frame sliders. 2 questions: are they the ones sold for the SD? I didn't see any listed for the SDGT. Also, I'm thinking of getting the whole bundle from TRex (frame sliders, engine covers, axle sliders, bar ends) did you fit anything else from them? Thx

Thanks, Dave. I'll take it in this afternoon or tomorrow and see what they can do. I've copied the relevant parts of these posts on my phone, maybe they'll provide the service guys with some guidance.

Re: Any reliable SD-GT's out there?

Went for a ride around west Marin today, had the MTC fault out again. The check engine light stayed on—again—although I was able to reset the MTC and return home without a repeat. This suggests to me that the exhaust valve is once again the culprit. I've armed myself with your observations on previo...

      New in San Francisco

I spent close to 10 years on the Tiger 1050 forum (great, btw), then I traded in my Tiger 1050 for a GT last week. I've been perusing this forum for a few days, and it looks good. I live in Marin County, north of San Francisco, and commute in most days. The Tiger was a good bike for that, and I'm ho...
