Re: LED rear stop/tail light replacement options??

Thanks M,
No problem in translating as I have purchased many times from Germany, but the light appears to be identical to the lights4all tail light. Except in price, with a €40 difference, for what I believe to be an identical light.

Re: LED rear stop/tail light replacement options??

Thanks Rob,
I have looking for a brighter led replacement light as the standard is piss poor.
It is not on eBay searching that item number but it is on their website but it’s only in German.
Nice to get a review from somebody who has one fitted.
Mike.

Re: M7RR replace Avon Ultra sport 3D

I was considering putting these tyres onto my 690 Duke when they are due, so nice to read some feedback. But I will be putting Metzelers sports touring Roadtec 01's onto my SMT next, as it just makes sense with the year round weather I encounter (often wet!). Both have been highly recommended if you...

Re: Is there a future for SMT?

Yes it's comfortable place the SMT and still good fun. Yozzy having doubts about the comfort of your SDGT already ? I am still happy with SMT, not seen anything I really like to tempt me to change. I agree the the SDGT is a good bike but a bit far from the SMT to tempt me. I may get my suspension se...

Re: Is there a future for SMT?

KTM are believed to be developing a 800cc'ish parallel twin, that may fill the gap between the 690 and 1290. But only press speculation although a test mule has been seen. Wait and see.

Re: Topcase causes the subframe to break..!!

Nice welding.
So KTM did not solve the rear subframe problems with the 2011 updated frame.
I have not had any problems but I don't routinely carry much other than me on my bike.

If you are considering a LED bulb these bulbs are good, I fitted one recently and they are an improvement over the standard bulb.

Re: Aaaaargh Dead Bike

I doubt the rectifier is faulty as like you say it would overcharge with it usually boiling your battery and bulbs blowing as a sure sign of it failing. It could be that the battery is on its last leg and failed, ? As it sounds like it's the original one. Depends on how it has been maintained, but a...

Re: Replacement clutch master cylinder and lever

All I could suggest is fitting a seperatly 'universal handle bar mirror mount'. There are loads available, not sure exactly what is the mirror tread/bar diameter a the moment, but something like this would not look out of place. http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/Product.do?method=view&n=378&p=659078&c=21...

Re: TUTORO Chain Oiler

I fitted the Scottoiler years ago and have had zero problems from fitting. I altered the delivery to drip just behind the front sprocket so no tubing along the swing arm or oil anywhere near the back tyre.
I did not realise the Tutoro was so popular, not.

Re: LED Headlight

I have bought and now fitted one of these bulbs, and have to say the lighting is markedly improved. Also the bike visibly stands out which is a big bonus in the UK darker months, so it is a worthy practical upgrade to the standard lighting which at best could only be described as adequate. Not cheap...

Re: Duke (690) anyone?

The 690 Duke does have official KTM luggage options sililiar to the SMT and due to its very economical engine a tank range at least the same as well. http://shop.ktm.com/uk_en/powerparts/travel.html?year=2014&type=Naked+Bike&model=690+Duke+EU Other also provide luggage if you want like this: http://...

Re: 2009 690 Duke (US)

I have 2012 690 Duke if that helps (?) and I love it ! I know it is a heavily revised bike compared to the earlier model. I think the version you talk of is a bit more focused, more SM orientated ? But it is a great fun motorcycle, capable on the tight twisty roads of taking on and beating many more...

Re: Popped into the dealer today

I think the 990 engine is dead as far as KTM are concernered. They have developed it as far as it will go for them.
I would be surprised if the Yamaha 09 was a serious contender against the SMT but perhaps Kevtx knows different ?
