Re: Pillion Seat cover 2017 superduke looks bad

The only way for KTM to do anything about this is to bitch and moan to your dealer. I returned mine after seeing the gap was HUGE.

Daft that they wouldn’t make a 17/18 version yet.

Re: Second motorcycle to contrast the 1290?

if I could find a deal on a Monster 1200R that may have been my second choice to the SDR Said no one ever lol. VMAX if you’re short - maybe Tuono if you’re short(ish) - perhaps Nothing compares to the 2017/18 SDR or is remotely more fun to ride. Maybe some kind of blown bagger, but that’d just be m...

Re: 1290 Suspension

I have a reasonably simple question. I don't want to put kits in or anything like that. But I eventually will want to swap the fork springs and shock spring for a suitable item for my weight. Where do I get WP replacement springs or equivalent from? Preference is WP component but I would appreciate...

This is strange? The spring on my 2015 SD shock has "170-185" printed on the spring.

Re: 1290 Suspension

James is bang on. Let the professionals handle setting up your suspension. That said, the suspension on the 2017 is optimized for a riders weight of MAX 165-170 lbs. that’s what it’s sprung for. If you’re heavier (like me at 240lbs for instance) NO AMOUNT of adjustment will make this system work. Yo...

Re: My 2017 SDR Build

Hey Striff! Do you have a copy of your receipt and does it mention the fuel pump recall? I’d love to reference something at my dealership because they’re daft as shit. Thanks! All done. Tail Tidy Fitted, Painted wheels fitted and alarm... Fuel Pump recall fixed, and they also found a fault in the EC...

Re: Kev's 1290 modification list

Hey Kev, When you cut the tube just past the weld, I’m assuming it either pulled right out or you had to take the can off and slide it out the other way? I took my stock can off my 17 and had a friend fab up a tip (much like the Bursig model here http://xtcommerce.motorradteile-bursig.de/en/bursig-e...

Re: My 2017 SDR Build

So u had sound pulses from the Werkes exhaust that made u sick?
That’s pretty alarming, as it’s one of the options I’m considering.

Any further thoughts?

Re: 2017 SDR Mods (Beast 2.0) - What have you done?

I like your style Bart. My suggestion however is to put the recommended 'break-in' miles on your bike, add both packs and learn to love track-mode with your right hand for a while. Let the novelty wear off a bit (it won't) and then do your upgrades. You'll notice them more and understand what needs ...

Re: Aftermarket exhaust pipes for the 1290

My new custom modified pipe ....deeper sound than the 1st model we did and runs some internal plates in the de cat ( which is larger in diameter to the headers ) for back pressure and to stop it from being too barky when you crack it....still not quiet ..but not obnoxious either ..and keeping it fl...

Re: Loss of low end torque AR exhaust and removing exhaust valve.

The smart guy would probably return to stock and remove the baffle from the stock slip on. I did that and it sounds good. Then bought a full system. You took the baffle out of the stock can on your SDR? Was it difficult and did you notice any change in sound? I thought you could remove the whole th...

Re: 2017 SDR Mods (Beast 2.0) - What have you done?

I've been waiting for a KTM/Akrapovic Evo Ti full exhaust (for '17's) but I was just told that the full Ak exhausts for '17's have a recall for 'failed new mounts' and the revised Ak system will be available around the first of August in the U.S. Yes, I know that Ak systems for earlier years can be...
