Re: 17' 1290 Superduke quick questions

If you want loud and deep I went with Ooparts. Cat and flapper eliminated. Used Rottweiler flapper mimic thingy. It’s loud as hell, nice deep tone, and tucks up under bike to show rear wheel perfectly and unobstructed. Check YouTube for Ooparts Kim 1290. They have videos. Be prepared as the videos d...

Arrow Racetech slip on and De cat pipe review/experience?

Long story short went from stock (too quiet and lawnmower) to stock cat with Akra slip on (great sound but little quiet) to Oopart compact side exit de cat (shake the house - annoy the neighbors loud, necessitates ear protection on every ride even the shortest, perfect visually) I’m going back to a ...

Re: Anyone review the OOPArt KTM exhaust?

It turns out it was just too loud for my daily driver type duties. Too bad because I loveeee the look. I’m going to try Arrow Racetech titanium slip on and arrow de cat pipe before returning to stock cat and Akra slip on. I didn’t have the ECU flashed at all and never increased flow on the intake si...

Loud as you know what. Still like it’s sound and don’t feel it degraded performance.

Still no picture. I have an oopart but it’s the original. I’m liking the stealth dual exit exhaust too but will roll with this one awhile.

Re: Bike shuts off at low speed when cold and downshift to 1st

Example of what the grommet looks like. I couldn’t find a pic of it on the fuel pump though. See the smaller diameter would lower fuel passage vs the larger one

Re: Bike shuts off at low speed when cold and downshift to 1st

FINAL UPDATE! PROBLEM SOLVED. Here’s the result of the problem solving. KTM rep said there was a run of bikes where the assembler putting the rubber grommet on the inlet of the fuel pump was putting them on backwards. It’s a small tube shaped rubber grommet that has a small internal diameter on one ...

Re: Carbon fibre rear hugger fitting!

The SD R in the pic needs to remove his pillion pegs , makes the bike look much more spondicious!, the bit you need is in the KTM tool kit, just pop it in a ratchet and off you go, 15min job if that!!. Yes I would love to but I’m awaiting the rear bags which I believe need those pegs. I never have ...

Re: Carbon fibre rear hugger fitting!

I just did this install. Wasn’t too bad. Stock hugger has molded clasps for the brake and speed sensor/abs but the carbon one has little brackets epoxied in that you have to put zip straps in and cinch down the cables to hold them up out of way for lower cover. The under cover is the same part from ...

Re: Anyone review the OOPArt KTM exhaust?

I don’t notice any change in power. If anything it’s a little weaker like 3k ish range but I had it in my head the flapper had something to do with back pressure so I’m not sure it’s not in my head. I actually think higher up it’s stronger. Seems to lighten the front end more then I recall in spirit...

Re: Anyone review the OOPArt KTM exhaust?

https://youtu.be/B5AhnKbNfk8 The video does it no justice really. It sounds fantastic but it is crazy ass loud. Probably 90-95db cruising around normal speeds. Crack the throttle and you are above 110db. 119 was the max one trial and 125 was max another trial. That's military jet take off power. I ...

Re: Anyone review the OOPArt KTM exhaust?

And the morning conversation 2 houses down after the baby wakes up at 630 and the wife wakes up the husband and says our a$$hole neighbor just woke up the baby again with that stupid loud bike. . Yeah honey, but it's not brappy loud. -death stare. I'm joking but you just know that conversation had ...

Re: Anyone review the OOPArt KTM exhaust?

I used one and it was 80-81 db at 1800 ish rpm idle and 105 around 4K rpm. I'm going to retest to see if I can get an average over a few trials. Akra slip on was 72 db at idle and 101 at same throttle. Doesn't look like a big change but this sucker is loud. Just fired it up in my neighborhood this A...

Re: Anyone review the OOPArt KTM exhaust?

Wait till I ceramic coat the headers matte black too. Definitely happy with this part. Fit was perfect. Sound is perfect. Granted Super dukes are a bit of a niche market but these guys at moto-diy really made a gem.

Does anyone have a picture of this bracket mounted up to a SDR, and or pics of mounting a 690 Windscreen on to this mount? I know I'm being demanding but if someone could give a nice parts list and pics I'd appreciate it. I second this request. I like that look especially if it diverts a little win...

1290 R rear side bags mount to pillion pegs?

Anyone with the KTM powerparts rear side bags can you confirm you need to keep the passenger pegs? I will never use them for a passenger so would get rid of them but I have the 2017 rear side bags on order and figure I need to keep the pegs for the bags.

Re: Anyone review the OOPArt KTM exhaust?

And it's on! Thanks to Rottweiler and their servo stand in to kill flapper valve.

I couldn't be happier. It is quite loud and have not ridden it yet to see how it sounds under load and higher rpm. Full review coming.

Re: Anyone review the OOPArt KTM exhaust?

$540 shipped I believe and no flow testing I know of.

No batting in it to change, all hard parts so should last life of the bike or until I see a new shiny object😉
