Re: ABS dongle

On my bike the abs light flashes when in smoto mode. If I am going to do a dongle I hope it shuts that off.

ABS dongle

Does anyone out there have experience with a dongle to save the abs settings (my bike is a 17). I have been experimenting with the smoto setting, and think I like it. An unseen benifit is the MSR being shut off. Makes the bike feel much more natural to me. Unless I was touring or carrying a passenge...

Wasn't trying to be a dick (possible fail), just felt like I was in a corner without realizing it.

Re: 2015 Still In Crate - Should I Buy?

I've also heard they are 1301 cc. Ever check? Motorcyclist and motorcycle.com are pretty reputable. Should I be double checking everything they say? Also the salesman (from a KTM shop) told me that. Wasn't puffing my chest out. Just stating information as fact which I had no reason to doubt.

Re: 2015 Still In Crate - Should I Buy?

I guess I get that you're upset, but don't put that I me. Two reputable publications posted that info. Want to know what? One of the salesmen that tried to sell me a bike qouted it. If you think it is my responsibility to check random part #s of bikes I don't own? Well, that will just take the fun o...

Re: 2015 Still In Crate - Should I Buy?

If it doesn't have it, it doesn't have it. If you own a 16 I'll trust you. That said I have read similar reports other places. I can only assume that the gt specs were wrongly quoted.

Re: Best braking pads

I appreciate looking for the best pads, but is anyone not satisfied with the stock performance? For street use does anyone think upgrading the discs is needed? Not satisfied - when for unknown definitive reasons, the standard rotors tend to warp on this bike. Aftermarket - or more specifically - NO...

Re: Fork seal leaking at 2700 miles WTF

I would share your concerns with KTM, not the dealer. Even if it is just through the main website. The factory needs to know what is going on so they can make the best decision on how to handle things. They might/probably blow you off, but if they are looking to improve the owner experience you may ...

Re: New protaper handlebars

So I figure I should give an update here and there as I get used to these bars. They are a little bit more of a reach. Not bad, but they are. It isn't a bad thing if you want more weight over the front. Also, I haven't done it, but you can move the bars back in the triples. Overall these were a good...

Right in line with the blinkers.

Question: Does your throttle side have a gap between the grip and the housing?

I have an Autotune if anyone is interested. Off a previous bike, and my SDR is stock, no need for it.

No, I meant the excess of oil. I guess just open one of the drain plugs and let some of the oil out?

Re: New protaper handlebars

I never saw a part number. I just know that the "cr high" and "cr mid" in the Contour range will work. That said, a 5 minute phone call to protaper before you buy is totally worth it. You want to make sure the control area is right about 8 inches (i think 8.2 to be exact).

Re: Oil change

The tech who did my 600 miles service said don't over fill it. In fact his instructions were to run it just a bit from full. They have had situations of oil making it's way into the air box.

New protaper handlebars

Stock handle bars had a bit too much sweep for me. I cover the brake with my pointer finger, and it just wasn't comfortable. I decided to buy the same bars I have used on my dirtbike. Fisrt problem, they were a bit high. The main issue though was that the diameter of the bar that you can mount contr...
