Heated grips

This maybe a no no, but I can't access the for sale section or figure out how to be a supporter. Anyway, my dealer ordered me the wrong heated grips for my 17 sdr. They are for the adventure bikes. I have mounted them, they leave a gap at the sdr's throttle housing. I have tested them, and they work...

Re: Second motorcycle to contrast the 1290?

Good to hear your okay. If you buy anything besides an sdr you need to do a comparison for us.

Re: 2017 Super duke 1290 R Maintenance/clutch

I find neutral while still rolling, or fan the clutch just a bit when at a stand still.

Re: First Tune & Two Recalls

I have a feeling these recalls are why the sdr was so late in the US. I think they were taking care of this stuff before we took delivery.

You know the poerparts triples would match those bars pretty nicely.
You motherfuker.....Yes I have pondered that purchase.
Lol, resist until you find them cheap on ebay.

Re: Fat Bars and Heated Grip Install.
My arms are perfectly straight from shoulder to fist, and the reach to the Clutch and Brake levers keep my wrists in line with my shoulders, this is how I have always set up my bars and controls, seems to keep pain away from wrists and shoulders. Maybe a wives tale.
Not a wives tal...

Re: My super D is lying to me. :(

I did 110 miles last Saturday. Dash said 40.1 mpg and I had 3 bars left. And that's with full akrapovic exhaust and remapping. Stock was around 44. Either your wringing the balls off this thing or running rich. What's your altitude? What's your cruise rpm? My friend got 55 on his '86 intruder 700. ...

Re: My super D is lying to me. :(

I ended up going for a ride the other day, and have come up with a theory. I don't think the computer does well computing short trips. The bike claimed 38 mpg on my ride, a mix of cruising and spirited riding. After 40ish miles of commuting on the same tank the actual numbers were 32 mpg, but the co...

Re: What have you broken today?

The fasteners don't appear to be the highest speck stuff. I don't think this bike likes to be taken apart and put back together. One really needs to pay attention when putting a wrench or screwdriver to the bike. I have 3 screws I want to replace.

If I am in a position to get another bike my plan is a street legal Husky 501. It appears to be the Super Duke of duel sports.

Re: Anyone review the OOPArt KTM exhaust?

As decibels increase they get more intense. 60 to 80 is less of a change than 100 to 110. Kind of a problem for me. I work late, and get home no earlier then 12:30am and as late as 5am. I need to consider this for any upgrades. I like the under belly look though.

Re: Anyone review the OOPArt KTM exhaust?

Would you mind downloading a db meter app and measuring the noise? I have one on my phone, they are pretty straight forward. If you do I have one suggestion. Either delete the app when you are done, or take away it's permissions. It will probably have control of your microphone. Also, they do need t...

Going to go for a ride tomorrow (hopefully), and see how it does on an afternoon run. I do ring the poop out of it when I can, and am doing stop light to stop light.
