Re: 990 Power Commander 5 & Tune ECU custom maps

Hi all, I didn't get much response when I submitted the post below last summer. I since made one more map which I have been using now for a couple of months without any issues. I have removed the logging equipment and mounted the lambda gauge on the handle bar. Lambda mostly stays around 14,2 when c...

Re: 990 Power Commander 5 & Tune ECU custom maps

When time permits will do. I am quite sure they are well balanced now, it is noticeable when driving. The engine runs nicer than before, easier at lower revs. Exactly what I experienced when balancing mine. What is that thingy on your handlebar to measure the A/F ratio and such? Datalogger? Yes, I ...

Re: 990 Power Commander 5 & Tune ECU custom maps

Thought I would share the map I have made based on Tuneecu map #20, made by Kev. I have made it by logging when riding and based on the data recorded, changed the maps accordingly. The aim have been lambda 14,2 when cruising (throttle position 2-10%) and lambda 12,8 at bigger throttle openings. The ...

Re: 990 Power Commander 5 & Tune ECU custom maps

For the well willing amateurs just like me, I have made a video about how to sync the throttle bodies. https://youtu.be/P9eVwmslnVo Nice video. Did you check the pressure in tuneecu after syncing? Equal readings on both cylinders? The sensors connected with hoses to the throttle bodies are the Mani...

Re: RE: Re: 990 Power Commander 5 & Tune ECU custom maps

I see you ride without a screen, I do too. So much better. Shame it ruins the looks :( Yes, seems to be the only way to get rid of the wind noise. I first bought a Windjammer https://www.amazon.com/WINDJAMMER-REDUCES-Helmets-original-copied/dp/B003FHLNVK but that didn't help much. I then bought a S...

Re: 990 Power Commander 5 & Tune ECU custom maps

Yes it is. Get those flies in if you cannot bear the noise! Only thing stopping me is I am finally (almost) finished with tuning my map and I don't want to start over. Could anyone try to describe the noise? :) This is what it sounds like. There is a lot of wind noise in this video. Should have use...

Re: 990 Power Commander 5 & Tune ECU custom maps

Q1. When I looked at the F1 table I couldn’t see any difference in the values on Kev’s map (before fuel adjustment) to the F1 table on the original map. Also on the Map Edit page, the Map number in the ECU Infos box is still saying KTM626EU1180231. Makes me think I haven’t installed any map at all!...

Re: 990 Power Commander 5 & Tune ECU custom maps

Maybe because "Jnberr0" dosn´t want to listen to the intake sound (noise) :-) I had the secondary flies removed and the intake sound is very much noticeable. I mostly use ear plugs so I don´t care that much. /M Is it a big difference with second flies in? I always thought it was the open air filter...

Re: 990 Power Commander 5 & Tune ECU custom maps

I've got a 2010 SMT with akra slip-ons (baffles in), SAS and canister removed, Rottweiler intake and akra map. Hi Jnberr0, Tuneencu map #1 on page 1 seems to match your bike. Why don't you want to remove the second flies? It is a simple procedure. Just remove the tank and the air filter. Then unscr...

Re: 990 Power Commander 5 & Tune ECU custom maps

I have read this forum and others extensively and realized along the way that the TPS voltage/setting is crucial and listens very carefully. I guess that if you load a customized fuel map, you should also know what the TPS voltage was of the bike it was made for. Imho setting up your bike starts wi...

Re: 990 Power Commander 5 & Tune ECU custom maps

Hi Mich69, Looks like your throttle bodies are not synced. After syncing the throttle bodies my bike vibrates less and pulls smoother on low revs. However it also did no longer go immediately down to idle when releasing the throttle. It stayed at 2000rpm for a couple of seconds before dropping to id...

Arduino datalogger

I have been working on a Arduino datalogger for a while now and have finally come to the stage where I can start logging. I still have some issues to sort out though. I had never used an arduino or done any programming in general before so I have spent quite some time reading forums and looking at y...

Re: Cheap air box that works

I did some more testing yesterday. Pinching the crankcase breather hose makes the noise go away. After reading discussions about oil change in this forum I started to suspect that I had put too much oil in the engine and that oil was pushed up the hose. I checked the 4l oil bottle and there was abou...

Re: How do you remove the oil jet

I know this thread is one year old but I thought I would share how I was able to remove the oil jet. First I tried all the screwdrivers I could find, trying to get them to stick. When that wasn't working I took the vacuum cleaner, put a thin cloth over the nozzle and just sucked the oil jet out of t...

Re: Cheap air box that works

That's really weird, you haven't accidentally clicked SAS on or something have you and it's trying to do something with the engine? I don't think so but I will check that when I get the chance. Was the popping noise in that video?... I couldn't really hear it if it was? It sounds to me like a diffe...

Re: Cheap air box that works

Hi, First I would like to thank you all for a good forum full of information. Big thanks to Kevxtx for documenting all his modifications and for sharing his maps. Now to the reason I am posting. While doing the 15k service this winter I also installed an ITG JC30-80 air filter with the bottom plate ...
