Re: Lookin For Adventure...... Head Out On The Highway.......

Gotta stop posting any reference to anticipated riding approvals....... fickle finger of fate spots them and slaps me down with longer delays... Oh well, it's not 2019 yet....... arrrgh I've done it again........  I'm feeling good to go...... hoping the medical team agrees.....

Re: Well That Was a Surprise...

Great news jjsc6... :) I'm pleased to hear that somebody is healing according to plan! I'm now feeling great..... the house painters are here today and I have been racing up and down stairs preparing for them with no ill effects. I'll try asking my local GP tomorrow, but I expect he will defer to th...

Re: Well That Was a Surprise...

Cheers DaveNZ, I'm spoilt by dealerships with plenty of demo's on hand 8-) but I understand the difficulty in areas that are far away from the big dealers etc. I just wanted to have a polite swipe at yet another prick who blames his bike for his own 'short-comings' ....... know what I mean..... ;) ....

Re: Any reliable SD-GT's out there?

Cabin fever must be getting to me........ I hate the title of this thread........ it screams out loudly that KTM's have some reliability issues when in fact they are no worse (if at all) than other revered brands (eg BMW/Ducatyy/Aprilia/Mguzzi/Triumph......hell even the Japs have lost their title fo...

Re: Well That Was a Surprise...

Must be all those cold front weather systems blowing across the ditch........ ;) . We just had some long overdue steady rain showers - breaking the winter drought - so we might green up a bit. I'm due to see my Cardio Doc on 18 Sept......... sooooo, I'll be asking for my freedom - hopefully he will ...

Lookin For Adventure...... Head Out On The Highway.......

Oooooh yeah....... 2018, a year I'll never forget :( However, I've been busy preparing my 1290GT for some adventures in 2019 (or sooner, if I can ;) ). Decided to graft my old style 40Ltr cases on and create a Heavy Duty Hauler........ well, I was getting itchy feet (or cabin fever  ) lounging ...

Right-EO....... or should I say..... Right-EVO....... Fitted the seat rack last wednesday........ probably not worth the cost unless you have access to reduced registration fees for rider only m/cycle....... and it isn't weather tight either...... but it looks tuff  Motech Rear End 1Sep0...

Re: Well That Was a Surprise...

Congrats on 'pulling the pin' I'm basically 'retired'....again....... my career ended with involuntary redundancy some years back and after a while I fell into a casual driving job to keep occupied and earn some petrol money....... that has slipped away with my stubbornly slow recovery fro...

Re: Pit Bull headlift stand

G'day Afrankart, I use a headlift stand........ mine is the La Corser (KTM Copy) universal headlift stand and it is really easy to use....... but the steering will only swing part of the way L & R which will be common to all headstock lifts on the GT. I saw the Pitbull video months after I bought th...

Re: My first KTM

Welcome newbie........ Oh boy, you'll enjoy that motor, it just pulls so hard....... can't help but smile when you open the taps up :D After a few rides you might feel the slightly tallish gearing gets in the way of easy cruising in town speed limits/traffic etc....... if so, fit a 40 tooth rear spr...

Re: Fuel Tank Removal, Emissions equipment removal for GT

Glad to be of assistance........ also very glad I had the 'brain snap' to save Tanc's procedure as I have not yet attempted to remove my fuel tank........ still trapped by warranty period (2 years here in Aus) but also nothing has needed attention/forced me to go under the hood as yet. When I am all...

G'day Vinjah......

Same as you...... photo's are gone from the first post...... all called 'image' now :(

I use a laptop and google home page for access (I know, so old skool/out of date  ) so i think it might be a forum archive thing as Tancarkar has moved on to another brand.

cheers

SW Motech EVO Side Rack & Rear Seat Rack-plate

G'day from Australia ;) Sitting around yesterday.... had another look at these items (I was interested in them when I bought my GT in Feb017 - but didn't like the price or the waiting time....and went with KTM cases sight unseen  .). Visited the Aus agent (Motorrad Garage) and..... behold........

Re: Well That Was a Surprise...

Hi JJ, Good to hear you are on track for the recovery I thought I'd have..... Also, good thinking to delay bike riding for longer than car driving as the breast bones will only be partly healed/bonded by 3 months....... and you wouldn't want to test them with a prang or a slip/slide on the bik...

Re: Well That Was a Surprise...

G'day jjsc6, Glad to hear you're on the mend....... just promise us you won't overdo things ;) . Your heart's electrical circuit has had major disruption so you must go easy and let it settle down. The Cardio people should give you some guidelines to follow, but basically all you can do is walking e...
