Pre-breakfast purchase.... :o ..... oh, wait, pre-Brexit.... Yeah, I wonder how that will afflict life as we know it.... storm in a D cup, or major travesty..... who really knows? Nobody believes our politicians out here in the colonies either....... only difference is that we find out more no...

Re: Fuel Tank Removal, Emissions equipment removal for GT

Thanks Andythegeek  I'm looking at the infernal website now and your contact looks KO....... i haven't had a look under the tank again yet, so i may as well order the resistor plug...... I probably could do the massimo loop solution ...... Plug and play feels a lot safer and the freight charges...

Re: Well That Was a Surprise...

Cheers mate, one question you asked and I forgot to answer....... both my shoulders were in "pain" back in October to December...... they stopped me from exercising and I had to be very careful not to make them worse. They only started to come good in January (had the steroid injection in November) ...

Re: Well That Was a Surprise...

Good one Rocky, I haven't had a beer yet either and I still drink De-caf coffee which i quite like as it tastes the same, just doesn't have much caffeine in it (tea has caffeine in it BTW)...... i don't want to go back into hospital again ;) . I like lots of greens too, and had no exclusions while o...

Lowering Kit 25mm for SDGT

If anyone is considering lowering their SDGT by 25mm, I stumbled onto this site just yesterday..... www.whaccessories.com - not cheap, and requires forks raised and sidestand shortened, but can lower your Gt by 25mm if that's what you need...... May be available from other sites, this was just the f...

Snapjack SS prop stand for lubing chain/finding punctures

G'day all, Been harassing the good folk over on the KTM forum while the SMT forum was down and have learned a couple of useful things..... There is a neat prop stand from 'Tirox' - it folds up for transport, and plugs in to the SS swingarm axle of an SDGT/R or Ducati. I have ordered one but it won't...

Re: Fuel Tank Removal, Emissions equipment removal for GT

Cheers Massimo, I have been wondering if there was a simple way of getting around the canister dongle and after being off the forum since mid January (it just died and some UK & Aus & NZ members just couldn't log on), I log on and there is the solution ........ :D I wasn't impressed with the freight...

Re: Additional indicators/ blinkers

G'day Pk1, The supplier might just be conforming to local laws/standards by stating the oem indicators need to be disconnected. Maybe the lawmakers think too many flashing lights might confuse some car muppets  I installed similar LEDs to my Caponord's handguards. I went with the white continuo...

Cheers all...... nice pics...... once again I was due to throw a leg over (to ride in to get my recalls done  ) but have been struggling with another virus or weird heat/dust/whatever effect..... I'm ok but not as good as last week...... dang it, just bad timing...... oh well - re-booked for t...

Re: Front header turning red @ warmup

Thanks Recip..23, The 40t rear will be the solution for you. By the way.... how did you go with the 'red header' issue? I've been reading on the other 'KTM Forum' about fuel dongles richening the low speed mixtures etc etc, but you'd want to find the cause of your lean running (eg O2 sensor or softw...

Re: General failure on cold starting

Cheers Mick....... I was just reading a post over on the KTM Forum, and you might benefit from his suggestion. He had a problem in his first two weeks...... which was resolved by checking the battery leads at 'both ends'. This inspired me to have a look at my GT even though it doesn't have any issue...

Checked Earth Lead "both ends"

G'day all, Over on the KTM Forum, I read a post in a discussion about electrical issues/battery problems/dash blanking/etc...... and was inspired to check my battery leads - both ends! I knew my terminals were tight, but had never thought to trace the leads to the other end..... The +ve lead goes to...

Re: Well That Was a Surprise...

Cheers Brett, I think the Euro shops will get first priority - even though they are in winter and we are in summer, but as Germany is a huge success for the 1290 (AMCN published they have bought half of all SDGT's made), and the UK is just a train ride away, they will get delivery way faster than us...

Re: K&N Airfilter Installed

Cheers mate...... though my story is hopefully not what to expect for most..... I got the short straw and had the problem recovery, but thankfully I'm still here and just about to start riding (though today is very humid.... might chicken out and go early in the morning during the week.....). At lea...

Re: 2019 KTM SDGT Photo's are Out

Just read a post on the 'KTM forum' and the 2019 SDGT is on dealership floors in the UK now..... so they have stock but can't ride until spring, and we have sunshine here in Aus, but must wait until March for our first look  .

Re: Well That Was a Surprise...

 .... my oem filter looked like new at 11,300kms...... so your's is probably just ready for replacement at 30k kms. I'm booked in for the recall's on the 14th and I've splashed out on the ergo/heated seat so I'm committed to getting back on the horse..... :) Today's dealership advice was that t...

Re: K&N Airfilter Installed

I'll give you a little more advice. Don't silicone the clips in. Pull them out with a pair of plyers before you take the tank off, and you can slide them back in after the tank is back on. I've done it a few times now. Great idea..... thanks....... makes sense...... the silastic won't hold next tim...

Re: Well That Was a Surprise...

....... Broken wrist...... :o ....... you haven't tossed one of your bikes down the road have you :?: Anyway, good to hear your Gt is back and the wrist is healed. I've just installed the K&N airfilter that I was intending to fit last January (when I thought I'd have 15k kms up). Used a procedure fr...
