Re: brisbane area & beyond - day after termorras termorra

Ahaaa.......my Optus prepaid usb has decided to connect to the infernal net... Shit, this has been a pain on top of other pains for the last 3 weeks.......but it seems to have fixed itself, after I've run every wizard and blundered around every setting i could think of......and phoned the lo...

Re: New Superduke GT owner experiences.

Cheers NZDave...... was wondering why you were more quiet than usual (though my USB infernal net connection has been un-cooperative since 23 oct.......latest advice from Optus tech was that all 6 towers in my locality were 'under mtce'.... ....??? ;) ). Anyway, it just started working 10mins a...

Re: My new GT!

Hmmm, my 2017 GT doesn't have that....... must be the Dongle that adds that extra line...... so ow's it go in race damping? Isit fully stiff and hard or does it have good compliant damping? I have had mine in 1+lgge almost from new and used comfort when it was really fresh (other settings were just ...

Re: Puig windscreens for SuperDuke GT in US?

Cheers Mick, the taller screen is probably not that big a deal unless you have brutally cold or wet weather to slosh around in. I put my oem clear screen back on for the Aussie summer...... the tinted Puig deflects air at my forehead (I'm about 5' 9.5") in the lowest position - that creates some 'no...

Re: My new GT!

Welcome to the crew....... the GT gets better and better as the miles tick by too! Mine was only starting to scrub in after about 3k kms.....getting better after 7k kms, and now at 10k kms it is fully settled with nice compliant suspension (on street), ...... and all of it's 150rwhp available... :D ...

Re: Cleaning Dust Boots

Yep, they take a bit to carefully pry them away from the fork, but once they begin to move they will pull down by hand. I spray some cleaner/lube into the boot and work it up and down......prob should use my fork seal cleaner tool  but this clears the gunk and I wipe the mess of the fork tube a...

Re: brisbane area & beyond - day after termorras termorra

Oh bugger...... just spotted the invite.......dam, been trying to clear the backlog from my weeks of being useless due lower back pain......and that pesky infernal net connection is still a problem....... I'm on borrowed connection from next door (and it just bailed out so I've had to retype reply :...

Re: New Superduke GT owner experiences.

Oh gawd, so that's ow it feels when u it '60'..... Well, maybe not.......it's just that on my click over date I happened to be flattened by lower back pain (no, not from the Gt.....) and other weird feelings that might also be connected to that back stabbing pain. Anyway, first ride yesterda...

Re: brisbane area & beyond - day after termorras termorra

Ahaaa, my broken back is fixed..... errrr, now how do I start this here 1290 thingy... Bloodyhell..... a sore back puts you out of action for a long time - and I'm not sure what I did to earn that "holiday"........ anyway, it's a relief to get the 'feeling better' signal rather than starting d...

Re: Difficulty finding neutral

Well-l-l-l-l..... it does get better, but even with 10k kms on mine I don't get neutral every time - but I just rock it a bit or clutch it a couple of cm's and out it slips. It's a Euro twin so it's probably never going to be as slick as a Jap gearbox (though I can clunk my CBR1100xx's cogs if I'm n...

Re: Heated seats / Fuel 95 RON ? .. or some benefit from BP Ultimate 98 (Australia)

Cheers Mark, I'm assuming the cyclops LED is a replacement bulb unit.......I tried some of that type on my lovely red Caponord1200 and discovered that they are worse than oem halogens because the reflector lens is not designed for their focal length centres...... well that's my theory anyway, but at...

Re: Headlight Protector - 1290Gt

G'day all....... yeah, the PI racing was blessed with dry track on Sunday..... just as well  and the KTM's got their best result.......but what happened to the Ducati onslaught? It was nice of MarkMarquez to let Jack Miller have a few laps of local glory......but then again, he had nothing to ...

Re: Headlight Protector - 1290Gt

At long last I've fitted the Zed's/AMHP acrylic headlight protector.... So thats done....... now all i need to do is tidy up one of the clip lock mounts that didn't go where I wanted it. Still, it looks good even if it is a tad bigger than the actual headlight....... I'm happy with it ;) It w...

Re: Heated seats / Fuel 95 RON ? .. or some benefit from BP Ultimate 98 (Australia)

G'day MarkLH...... from humid and showery Brisbane (it must be a weekend..overcast..threatening... :( ). I mostly use 95 - Shell or Caltex...... when I've had to use BP98 (country QLD seems to be BP territory) I've had the feeling that the GT likes 95 better.......but that may be down to what is add...

Re: So far

Cheers Moggz from the other side of the rock..... Another option could be the Acerbis Dual Road guards......they are minimal though and you may want larger coverage for really wet cold conditions......but they look great and are easy to fit and have colour options. Due to the Gt instruments being fa...

Re: Headlight Protector - 1290Gt

Well i've got the rather large headlight cover......intending to fit a-s-a-p...... I've already done a reasonably good job on the LED side lamps (adhesive 'Lite Skinz' cover) ...... but the Zed's protector was not cheap after the $15 freight was added to the $75 price.......and it took a week to get...
