C-TEK Battery Charger

Hi all, Wondering how everybody charges their batteries when in storage/not riding regularly :?: I've been disconnecting my earth terminal and clipping my C-TEK smart charger on just like it says to do in the KTM manual (as recommended for the KTM charger). This is getting tedious, and I'm sorely te...

Re: Front header turning red @ warmup

Thanks recip23.... :) Just caught your intention to go 16 t on the front sprox........ I'm sure the other Dave (in New Zealand) would agree to advise you to go to a 40t rear sprox for a couple of reasons:- 1 - the Gt has an amazing "quick change" system = 15mins to swap the rear sprox (no bs) - just...

Re: Phillip Island Moto GP

 You'll love the destination too...... Victoria is a beautiful place to ride (we used to take as many back roads as possible to stay off the major highways). Just remember there is a zero tolerance policy in force re- speed limits etc and they have koala cams in gum trees.... ..... wh...

   very jealous    ......

You'll have heaps of fun...... just be careful...... the Victorian polite farce know you're coming and will be out to get you. The NSW guys are not so bad. ;)

Re: Front header turning red @ warmup

cheers recip23, I had heart by-pass surgery way back in March and have been one of the few that struggled to get back into gear........ The lucky/normal ones like jjsc6 (the other invalid  ) are back driving/working within 6 weeks! Anyhooo, i have a check up scheduled for this Wednesday and hav...

Re: Front header turning red @ warmup

One thought comes to mind....... engine stalling was a factor caused by fuel filter media turning to mush and blocking flow from the fuel pump on some bikes using ethanol blends. Could this be the underlying cause of your red-pipe issue? (there is a recall out for fuel pumps and Brembo brake master ...

Re: PR5s

Geeze, wet wet wet weather over this side of the ditch.... ...... if I were authorized to ride I'd have to have a set of PR5's on as the Angel GT's are now almost 2 years old, having sat for the best part of 2018 while I recover from surgery :( ....... so I'll have to drop the cold pressures ...

Re: 2019 KTM SDGT Photo's are Out

 yeah, bit like buying a house......if new price is down you get less for the old house unless you're one of the lucky ones who 'sell on a high' and 'buy on a low'........ not really possible with bikes because they are not an appreciating capital asset even for those of us who look after them ...

Re: Well That Was a Surprise...

That's a good word for it....... I enjoyed the morning but did feel out of it until I drank my coffee..... then I was in the groove  . Hectic places those central city shopping mall's - people milling about, noises, smells, pidgeon's scrounging scraps....... was great to get back home and relax...

Re: Akro slip on and heated seat

 glad not to be bed ridden now...... we just got our first 31DegC day yest, and naturally a big storm in the evening. It's only Rocktober...... gawd help us in December/January at full summer....... Hey mick, I thought the rear seat was called a pillion perch, not the "Hot Seat".... :lol...

 A little birdie tells me there are a couple of Aussie prankster's in Amien's enjoying a beer or two on me  . Then again.... there's a lot of 'Dave's' out here, so maybe they were being honest..... ;) . France eh...... long way from home....... hope they turned on the sunshine for you :mrg...

Re: Does anyone know how to stop pillion head butt?

 I thought about being a smart-arse and saying 'leave her at home'...... but the real answer is as per DaveNz....... I also set my cruise to 'activated' before departure and just leave it on - that way I can set a speed (or not) whenever I want (less fiddly that trying to activate and set). The...

Re: Well That Was a Surprise...

Commiserations to you Dave'o....... Lowndse'y got the Bradbury award for fatigue management over the lightning fast Dave Reynolds (who I thought was going to blitz it for a superb win....... but that mountain is merciless on driver's and machine's ;) ). Can you believe how fast they can lap ..... 2m...

Re: 2019 KTM SDGT Photo's are Out

Nice pic PK...... really shows the revised styling around the headlight/tank panels. I think KTM have done a good job giving the GT a makeover without making the earlier model look bad. I'm guessing the new price will be about the same - they'll probably discount the 17 models which only struggled t...

Re: GT missing from KTM site

G'day all........ this headline now obsoleted ;) ....... see "photo's are out" - the EICMA release of the 2019 SDGT........ 8-) Many new features and well worth the wait. I'm envious of anybody just about to buy a 1290GT in that they can choose from a very good 017-018 model on run-out pricing or ju...

 Had my first big day out yesterday.... ...... no, not on the GT.....(I wish)....but on the bus into the city centre........ had to go and see my accountant and lodge my FY18 tax return ;) . That was a big day for me.... ended up doing lots of walking, carrying a heavy-ish bag of doco's o...

Re: 2019 KTM SDGT Photo's are Out

Cheers pk1, the TFT dash is the big one off the 1290SA-sport not the tiny little one on the SD-R :) There's only 3 'killer wasps' difference between the SDR donk and the current SDGT so it seems sensible to just use the same for both. I like 150rwhp...... it's thrilling and useable in everyday ridin...

Re: 2019 KTM SDGT Photo's are Out

Cheers Gary, EICMA was what KTM was waiting for and they have delivered  The 019 GT gets more hp, bigger screen, LED mains, big TFT dash screen and more sensitive suspension mapping..... probably lots more that wasn't mentioned by Gustav.... ;) I love that new dash  The U tube guy ...
