Re: 1290 SUPER ADVENTURE VERY DISAPPOINTED

I think the dealerships were on the back foot with KTM technology way back in 2016. They are much more experienced nowdays and either do better pre-delivery work or know what tweaks are needed after talking to an owner and how to do them. (I hear stories about Ducati/Aprilia/BMW/Triumph.....they all...

Re: ABS kicking in & rotor hot after re-assembling rear wheel/axle

Hi all, I have a 017 SDGT and the speedo error is under 2% with oem Angel GTs. Will vary a little with different tyre brands though. I was reading the original post (damaged ABS sensor ring) and recalled a comment one of my KTM dealership mechanical guys said about another customer getting a tyre fi...

Cheers mate, it's standard procedure here - 6months in the sin-bin if you have any VF/VT attacks after heart surgery........ most are ok to resume normal life within 6-8 weeks, but I just had to be difficult eh  Roll on 15 November........ Ps Had a spurt of enthusiasm and fitted my C-...

Cheers Mr,Mrs, errr Mark... (the second wife comment gave a clue.....) I've not had the pleasure of introducing my GT to the Oxley yet........ actually, I failed to get the previous Italian bike to the Oxley (my R1200RT companion holed a tyre outside of Dorrigo on a long weekend so we were str...

Bugger :( ...... struggled in for my checkup with the doc's at the big hospital (woke up with a slight virus making me feel unwell.......) and the registrar advised me that I have to wait until mid November before they can authorize me to drive again...... at least I have a date now rather than the ...

Re: Kim 1090

G'day Kim.... I know the feeling...... no idea why everyone thinks "Brembo" = best when their rotors warp so quickly, but it is a warranty item as mine went floppy at about 7,000kms and KTM dealership verified the runout and two new disc's arrived shortly after. My suspicion is that 320mm brake roto...

Re: super semi active comfidence

Yeah, I'd agree any of the current sporty tourer's would be light years ahead of the old school CB1300 (1970's design). The 2017 GT didn't get any major updates...... it got LED rear indicators (I have a 2017 GT)...... possibly some internal revisions to front forks (from WP) otherwise it looks iden...

Ho Ho.....bloody Ho...... well at least the medical team has given me a date, even though it's another month of waiting..... at least I have a target date ;) - though the SDGT might still have to wait for 2019 before I feel confident/fit enough to ease back into riding......

Re: sw motech crash bars

G'day Monco1960 from he other side of the planet  I looked at the SW Motech bars for my 1290GT and they are very solid with three mounting points, but I thought they might possibly be leg breakers as they are close to the rider (I've read about bike journo's getting broken legs in slow speed of...

G'day and welcome fellow Queenslander :) Great to have another Brisbane based rider converted to the 'light'...... ;) Keep up the pics eh...... forum has been a little slow lately so it's great to see some shots of Gt's out in the wild. (same goes for other forums too...... people must be out riding...

C-TEK Battery Charger

Hi all, Wondering how everybody charges their batteries when in storage/not riding regularly :?: I've been disconnecting my earth terminal and clipping my C-TEK smart charger on just like it says to do in the KTM manual (as recommended for the KTM charger). This is getting tedious, and I'm sorely te...

Re: Front header turning red @ warmup

Thanks recip23.... :) Just caught your intention to go 16 t on the front sprox........ I'm sure the other Dave (in New Zealand) would agree to advise you to go to a 40t rear sprox for a couple of reasons:- 1 - the Gt has an amazing "quick change" system = 15mins to swap the rear sprox (no bs) - just...

Re: Phillip Island Moto GP

 You'll love the destination too...... Victoria is a beautiful place to ride (we used to take as many back roads as possible to stay off the major highways). Just remember there is a zero tolerance policy in force re- speed limits etc and they have koala cams in gum trees.... ..... wh...

Re: Front header turning red @ warmup

One thought comes to mind....... engine stalling was a factor caused by fuel filter media turning to mush and blocking flow from the fuel pump on some bikes using ethanol blends. Could this be the underlying cause of your red-pipe issue? (there is a recall out for fuel pumps and Brembo brake master ...

Re: PR5s

Geeze, wet wet wet weather over this side of the ditch.... ...... if I were authorized to ride I'd have to have a set of PR5's on as the Angel GT's are now almost 2 years old, having sat for the best part of 2018 while I recover from surgery :( ....... so I'll have to drop the cold pressures ...
